Wedding under $5,000 in MN

I need some help/inspiration! I am trying to find tips on how to keep my wedding under $5,000, but I dont necessarily want to sacrifice style to save a buck. I am thinking about having a outdoor summer wedding somewhere in MN, or early fall if prices usually go down after the busy summer season. There is just so much to think about. I don't want any dancing (because I'm awful at it) which is a big money saver. Also the guest list will be pretty small at less than 100. I'm pretty crafty so I think it might save me some money to make decorations and such myself. Also I wont need too many flowers with only 3 bridesmaids. People have said it might be a good idea to forego dinner and do an appetizer or dessert only wedding, but I haven't decided if I like that idea. I want it to be really relaxed. Does anyone know of any wedding venues that are semi outdoors and affordable? Also if you have any other tips on how to cut cost that would be really helpful. Thank you! :)

  • Hi.  You are correct to go with outdoor venues.  I suggest you go use a Three Rivers Park - they generally run from $75-$200 per outdoor location.  http://www.threeriversparks.org/
Many come with shelters or pavilions in case of inclimate weather.  Also, outdoor venues tend to be a bit more friendly when it comes to caterers/liquor licenses.

Hope you have a wonderful day!  If you need help, please let me know!

  • I did most things from my wedding that were used.  Special Day Consignment in Rochester (She is on facebook) is great to work with and worth the drive.  There is also Bride to Be in Bursville is also a bridal consignment shop.  I thought they were expensive.  I ended up buying new on something things for cheaper than what they had used.

Craigslist has lots to stuff too.

Used for almost everything in my wedding saved me $$$.
  • We too are on a budget $8,000. We've looked at parks and they are cheap but you have to be out by 11pm, so I'm not sure how late you are thinking. We are paying for the wedding ourselves so trust me I have looked at so many venues, unfortunatley what we wanted it isnt going to work out with our budget.
  • Which venues in the Three Rivers district are you referring to? I can't seem to find any under $600.
  • I am at a budget of about 7,000 for everything. Eagle trace I looked into they are a great option of your in the Clearwater area. We are getting married in St. Cloud so I know more about that area.

Thank you for this. I'm considering moving my wedding and I was heartbroken but looking at Three Rivers is helping me get excited again.
