Ideas for what to wear on the way to the hotel after reception

I am truly at a loss. I have been looking for a wedding reception dress for the exit to go to the hotel, but I am having NO luck. I am so picky. I am hating everything that I find/try on. If I do find something I love, it's out of stock or too short or something is wrong with it! I was wondering what other options were. I do not want to wear my dress through the hotel. I was thinking maybe a cute dress, but does it have to be white? I feel like as I'm looking for white, all I see are dresses of other colors that I love, and I hate all of the white. I understand that it is my wedding and I can do whatever I want. I think I'm just looking for brides to actually tell me that it's ok to wear whatever. It will only be for the exit and any late night dancing if I decide to change. But I am going to wear my dress as long as possible. I am seriously stressing out over this. I am getting married in 25 days, and I'm not sure what to wear in the limo!

Can I ask why to the bolded? I mean you will only have to walk through the hotel lobby and go up the elevator to your room. To me getting another dress just to walk through a hotel lobby is a bit of a waste of money.

But if you really want to change then I say wear whatever you like. It doesn't have to be white. Just find a cute cocktail dress that you love and feel great in and rock it.

First - like the others have said, I don't know why you would want to take off your wedding dress. I love mine and am making arrangements to wear it as long as possible.

Next: Why not just change into something you already own and are comfortable in? IF I felt the need to change out of my dress, I'd probably be putting on something way more comfortable after a long day/night (like yoga pants, a sweatshirt and my favorite sneakers).

I think walking through the hotel in your dress is so much fun. When else do you get to go out in public looking like a cream puff? Obviously, you can do whatever you want, but it seems like such a waste to buy a new dress just to go from the reception site to your hotel room.

I've seen a bride walk through the lobby in her dress; I've also been in wedding parties where we've walked around in public places to do pictures. People smile and shout congratulations. It's sweet in my opinion.

I wouldn't personally buy a dress solely to wander around in afterward unless it was a $20 sundress or a cocktail dress I'd wear again and again. Just find a dress you like or own walking around in a ridiculous dress while not being ridiculous because you're the bride.

I get what you're saying. I'm wearing a short gold dress for our exit. I wouldn't be embarrassed to walk around the hotel in my wedding dress or anything, but my dress is seriously complicated to get on and off and to be honest I would rather my mom or a bridesmaid who knows what they're doing help me get it off. When I get back with H I just want to relax and enjoy our wedding night without spending 30 minutes while he tries to figure out how to unsnap the zillion layers.

Just wear whatever you want! Who cares if it's white, your guests will see you in it for about 3 minutes. Go for it.

It's just a large dress, and getting in and out of the limo and elevators is going to be a hassle. We are getting married at my parent's house, so I'd rather just leave it there.

I think any cocktail dress would do. You are def overthinking it for something you will be wearing for such a short amt of time. wherever whatever you want! Any color any style.

You can wear whatever you want; whether that be a white dress, a dress you already own, jeans and a t-shirt, or whatever.
