FI (EEEEEEEE!!!) and I had a wonderful time in Maine with my family & friends. We both took Friday off, so we headed out around noon. We stopped just outside of Boston to have lunch with his brother & SIL - they gave us a lovely bottle of champagne. We got to my parent's house just about dinner time. We had some food, and some drinks (my dad loves to surprise me with "yuppie" beer when I go home - he drinks PBR or Old Milwaukee {GROSS} so he picked me up some Angry Orchard, haha) and played CAH. I adore my parents - we laughed SO hard.

Saturday we hung out at home. FI & I took Violet for a walk to my grandparents house, and we let her run around the big backyard. They don't live too far from my parents, but are off the main road, so I don't have to worry about traffic. Then we went to my sister & BIL's for dinner. We hung out with them for a while, I got to meet my sister's chickens (omg they were ADORABLE), and watched the Red Sox game.

Sunday we went to see my grandparents again, but it was raining on & off, so we didn't stay outside for long. Later in the day, we went to see some family friends. I grew up with all their kids, and they are like my second parents, so it was fun to have everyone together. One of the guys has a fully modified Jeep buggy thing that he does off-roading in, and he let me drive it. FI was pretty nervous, but we survived. I told him "you can take the girl out of Maine, but you can't take the Maine out of the girl."

Yesterday, my other sister brought her dog over to play with Violet, and they had a wonderful time running around & wrestling. Her dog doesn't really like strangers, especially men, and he absolutely ADORES FI, which makes me so happy. Usually he'll grump at a guy he doesn't know, but with FI, he runs right over, jumps up & gives him kisses. It's adorable. We headed out around 1230, got home and ordered Chinese food. I went to bed pretty early.

Now I'm procrastinating on doing work. Sigh. Why can't life always be a vacation??

I don't even know what day it feels like! I work at a school and it's getting to be the last few weeks and that makes me not want to do anything at work! My weekend was boring.....My bf works overnights on the weekends so he worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and my best friend just got a second job as a server and likes to work weekend nights. Then yesterday the one day that bf and I were going to try to have a little fun and bbq it poured the whole day. Although we recently bought the book 101 questions to ask before you get engaged so we pulled that out and had about an hour of interesting conversations!

@Phira I'm sorry you had a stinky weekend, I hate when vendors are flaky like that.

@Blackbird230 Yay! Those are the best kind of weekends. Also I'm jealous that you have a horse! Sometimes I wish I didn't live in the city...

This weekend was pretty great. My grandma drove down from St. Louis to go dress shopping with me. Friday night we went to our first dress shopping appointment and it was horrible, no one offered to help us until we were ready to walk out of the store, and then they didn't have anything like what I wanted. So after that we went to Gio's Chicken and I ate my feelings. Saturday we went to two more stores and I FOUND A DRESS! So that was pretty exciting. Then we had lunch with FI, then went home to relax. Grandma and I stayed up till midnight talking, it was lovely.

Sunday we went for a walk on the belt line to get crepes for breakfast, then went to church, ran some errands, and had dinner with FILs. Yesterday we didn't do much of anything. Grandma went home today and now it's back to real life...

Good afternoon, all!

I'm so tired today. We moved on Sunday - I don't even remember Saturday, I think I moved boxes mostly? Sunday we moved all the furniture, including a piano for me. I went to bed somewhere around 4 a.m. Sunday night because I had to set up one room, just one place where I didn't have chaos.

Yesterday we worked on more moving, brought over both cats. Putting soft paws on FI's cat was horrible. He yowled like he was being scalped, and we found three caps on the floor this morning. So we get to do this again now. $:\$ Ellie is doing well in the new house. We put together the kitchen table, put together the cabinet drawers, did a bunch of other stuff. I have to finish cleaning and moving things from my place, but I unpacked about 15 boxes yesterday/Sunday so I have boxes to fill again.

And today my run got all fucked up because the control board lost contact with the safety system and did the right thing - it shut down. Now I need to order parts. Argh ... I'm kind of tempted to take the afternoon off and go clean and pack instead of occupy space at the office, but I can do some writing and be productive that way.

I found out FMIL is being released from the hospital, they couldn't find anything wrong with her.

@Phira girl I feel you. We finally found a photog in our budget and got our session scheduled but now it’s summer and it’s going to be HOT AS BALLS when we’re taking our photos outside.

@LaPeanut1018 I got it at Carrie's Bridal in Chamblee and of course there will be dress porn…as soon as I get home from work.

This is exactly why I really wanted our photos to be Sunday! It was perfect weather. I ended up feeling a little bit too chicken to wear shorts, but would have been perfectly comfortable in jeans, fancy (new) flip-flops, and a cute T-shirt. Now, we have to wait till June. June in New England? I'm guessing it'll either be beyond dreary, or 90 degrees and kill me now.
