Received a decline w/ a check....cash now or in 4 weeks?

We received a card with a decline for the wedding. They also sent us a check.
The thank you card has been written, but do we wait until after we get back from our honeymoon (4 weeks) to cash the check or do it now?
I wouldn't want someone sitting on a check I wrote for 4 weeks, but I'm not sure how others would feel.

    I would think cash it now, but don't spend it. I wouldn't want a check left un-cashed for that long, since it would mess with being balanced.

    Cash it, send a thank you card, but don't spend it.

    just don't spend it until after the wedding... so if you will be on your honeymoon, I assume you will have been married. so cash it before the wedding and then spend it on your honeymoon (or save it for later).
