  I saw it in an earlier 2012 post from theknot.  You still had to pay for shipping, but the rings themselves were free.

  Two years ago, you paid $25 per ring, non-refundable shipping, so, no, they weren't free.  I used to work in the jewelry industry.  Go to a pawn shop.  They sell rings in precious metal by weight, not style.  So many divorced people pawn their rings and never look back.  You can get a fantastic buy on a quality gold ring, have it sized and polished by a good jeweler, and it will be yours for life.

  We bought ours on Amazon. Mine was $100, his was $20 (he got titanium). Why spend the money on something you can't return?

  After I signed up for a few wedding websites and attended a bridal show JVL started mailing and e-mailing things for free rings. It wasn't something I was interested in so I never looked into it, but if you are newly engaged you will probably start getting stuff from them.

  Hi, I've ordered a ring for my fiancé and one for myself from JVL and we love them. It was $25 each for shipping. FI wears his all the time and it's basically indestructible (no scratches, nicks, chips, etc.) and is made of tungsten. I'm a nurse and wear my band at work instead of my engagement ring and it's held up to everything. Also, a friend of mine ordered one for her husband and it got damaged or something and they sent her a new one, no questions asked.

  Doubt they're free but if you're looking for cheap bands, Groupon Goods has quite a few band options for less than $10 each. If my fiance didn't want a gold band I'd be hitting that up right now lol
