Weekend

Re: Weekend

  • @LaPeanut1018‌ I really liked it!! I think Jamie is so spot on! I didn't have an exact vision of Claire but I like the the casting for her. I looked into getting Starz just for the show, but 15 a month for a show seems silly.

@clogreeneyes, I'm sorry about the break-in. People suck sometimes.

    @bethsmiles, Yay for shopping!!

@blue, good luck on your interview!

My weekend ... was a weekend. Friday night we went gaming, which mean FI gamed with his friends and I played the "let's write a paper" game. 192 pages and counting ... Oh, and the bill for the asbestos removal came, so thank you very much for dropping that on me in August, too, along with all the other expensive crap. August sucks.

Saturday we went makeup shopping - I used to wear Clinique but since I don't wear makeup often anymore I decided to get drug-store quality this time. I bought a whole bunch of stuff by e.l.f. in the hopes that I can practice before e-pics September 6. Then we got some householdy things and I went to work while FI kept working on the house.

Sunday we went to a family get-together on my dad's side. My dad proceeded to spend the car ride out there berating me for not speaking to my brother for the last 3 months while I tried to tell him that I have extended the olive branch of peace and if he's going to choose not to take it then it's not my fault. Also, and perhaps this is an absolutely petty way of thinking, there aren't many circumstances in life like this but this is one where I am absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt 100% in the right, and maybe my brother should be the one extending the olive branch of peace and apology. Ugh. But there was pinochle all afternoon so we didn't have to talk after we got there.

Not a relaxing weekend, but a weekend. I could use another one.

ETA: And I picked crappy makeup shades - my blush was too pink, my lipstick was way too pale, and the eyeshadow and mascara ... made my eyes feel weird? I don't have a better description than that. So back to the drawing board.
  • Morning all!

@CLoGreenEyes - That is awful, I'm sorry about your car and purse and contents! I'm glad you were able to cancel stuff pretty quickly. Someone broke into the car of one of my girlfriends a few years ago...broke the window, crawled inside, threw up and fell asleep. Insane.

@Blue & White - All of your new house stuff is making me jealous, I hope you love your new place! Good luck with your interview :)

    @Swazzle - Welcome back!

@Blackbird230 - Ugh, sorry to hear about your roommate; they can be the worst :(

@BreMR and @CocoBellaF - I have not been keeping up with my Jillian Michaels at all :( I've barely been home lately and when I AM home I'm exhausted. Booooo

@bethsmiles - Sorry to hear about your car, but yay for looking at rings!

    -------------------------------------

My weekend was pretty quiet. Friday night BF and I just relaxed and watched tv; we were out so much of last week that it was nice to have an evening to do nothing!

Saturday morning he went golfing and I cleaned like a crazy woman! I had to go spend $40 on cleaning supplies (just that time where everything ran out at the same time), but then I cleaned my kitchen and bathroom and vacuumed and washed my floors and changed the cat's litterbox over to a new kind of litter and did a ton of laundry. I felt very productive! Saturday afternoon FI and I went back to the sales center with his parents, since they wanted to see what we're thinking about buying, and got some paperwork to review. We need to talk to our mortgage broker again today and see what we can do.

Saturday night FI and I had date night, because I was being a cheesball and wanted a date for "exactly 9 months until we get married". So we went out for dinner and talked about wedding stuff and then went to the movies. We saw Lucy which was...good? I think? Parts of it were really bizarre, it was the sort of movie where I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about it at the end.

Yesterday was church, and lunch with his parents. We hung out at their place for a bit and I got some sun (I have adopted their backyard as my own until we have our own house), and then FMIL and I made cookies since we were craving something sweet. Then back to church, FI and I did some quick grocery shopping, and then crashed.

Tonight we're having dinner with friends of mine, and then tomorrow we're meeting with our wedding planner (FI's aunt) to talk about timeline and some vendors. I have a feeling this week will be like last and I won't be home much!

  • @Allusive007 - Yay for trying for babies!

  • I MISSED YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Although I wish life would just skip mondays. . .

@CLoGreenEyes - I'm so sorry your stuff got jacked. People suck sooooooo bad! I keep getting stuff stolen because I'm too trusting. Also too lazy to carry stuff around with me, I guess.

@Blue & White - Hella job vibes for you!

@bethsmiles - Brilliant Earth is my #1 porn site. Their vintage stuff is incredible. Just, all of it is incredible. Plus they have the best options for sapphire rings, IMO.

    ----------------------------------------------

My weekend was not as interesting as I wanted it to be. We didn't even end up hiking. Not even a day hike. So I was getting a little upset by Sunday afternoon, and BF could tell.

Friday night we drank and watched Lego Movie. I just saw it for the first time. Batman's song made me laugh SO freakin hard! ("DARKNESS" 'It's about being an orphan' "NO PARENTS") And then BF and I were singing Everything Is Awesome for the next couple of days.

My sister was in town, but didn't make too much of an effort to see me. I knew it would happen, thanks to her new boyfriend. But I was getting really sad that she knew I didn't go anywhere but still wasn't making an effort to invite me out with her. But then around 10 pm she called and asked if four people could come to my house to use my fire pit. I said okay, and it actually ended up being a really nice night. Plus, my dog listened to almost EVERY command while we had guests, which is totally a first!

Sunday we went to an international beer festival. My sister had tickets that she didn't end up using, and it turned out to be really fun and not crowded! However, I am very disappointed in how much I let myself drink, knowing that I was the one driving home. Still only half as much as T, but too much. Ate some amazing homemade chili, and watched Turbo (which was really dumb).

I miss the outdoors :( but I'm not willing to hike next weekend because I know I'll end up hurting myself the weekend before my race. Not gonna risk it.

  • @Allusive007 yay for trying! How exciting. I think we will be starting at the end of next month.

    Anniversary

  • @EisleyJoGo - Brilliant Earth is pretty great! BF really liked that he could look through all of their different sapphires and pick out exactly which one he wanted.

  • @Peaseblossom55 - That's so exciting! How is your H with babies? H was great with our niece when we first met her right after she was born. We saw her yesterday (she's 2 months now)...and I asked him if he wanted to hold her. He was like "yeah" and about 2 seconds after I'd handed her off she started crying and he was all "take her back, take her back". haha.
  • @allusive007 he's pretty good with them and all kids really. Our best friends have a baby who is 6 months old and he is so good with her.  I think he will make a great dad.  Once they start crying I get into the "take her back" mode, I always feels like I did something wrong.

We began to prep the room a bit for what will be the nursery and right now we're thinking of painting it gray.  The old owners left so many holes and nails in the wall we finally got to patching them up this weekend.

    Anniversary

  • @Bethsmiles I love the first two! So pretty!

    Anniversary

  • @bethsmiles - I love the color of the stone on the 3rd ring.  don't you want rose gold?  I imagine that would be gorgeous with rose gold!!
  • @bethsmiles - I love the colors of the first and third stones!
  • @peaseblossom55 that was the most surprising part of buying a house - at an apartment, it's usually clean when you move in! I spent a lot of the weekend cleaning the kitchen and will need to do the bathrooms soon (the bedrooms are cleaned but still have nails in the wall. Weird)

I personally think it's hilarious that the NEY board is turning into "I might be single and happy, dating, engaged, married, trying for kids, or not trying for kids" board. Heck we even discuss parenting at times. And poop. All the time.

@swazzle did you have your doc appt yet? I hope things go well!

@CocoBellaF - I do love rose gold! I told BF he can get whatever he thinks looks best with the stone he picks though. I'm really bad at giving him direction for what I like - I like everything!

  • @Blue luckily our place was clean when moving in but the nails in the wall in that bedroom were crazy. I patched up 30 holes yesterday I need to sand them down when I get home.  It sucks you are still cleaning.... Good luck with the job interview btw...

  • This weekend sucked. If it's not one thing, it's ten things, apparently. Saturday morning my stepdad got a call saying that my grandpa was not doing well and probably would not make it through the weekend. He threw a bag together and headed to Maine, but my grandpa passed before he got there. Now we're all concerned with how my grandma will handle things. I had a job interview on Saturday with Macys. I'm not sure how well it went, since the woman interviewing me kept stopping me to answer the phone, so I had to backtrack a lot. I got a filling a few weeks ago and now it hurts if it has any pressure on it, or if anything hot or cold touches it. So I have an appointment to get it looked at tomorrow, because dang it it hurts. And we thought our dog was doing better after we took her to the vet, but now she's been wetting the bed in her sleep. She's been drinking a lot more water than usual and is going out a lot more than usual too. So we'll have to take her to the vet this week too. So it's been a rough couple of days.

@CLoGreenEyes‌ I'm sorry about your purse! That's terrible!
@Blue & White Good luck with your interview! I hope it goes well!
@bethsmiles Sorry to hear about your car!

I think you're referring to my nipple situation? Sorry, I have an ankle situation too and have to go for a root canal and of course it ALL happens at once :(

I was supposed to go to the OB/GYN at 11:30 but my coworker called out today and one of us has to be here so I had to reschedule. Luckily they can see me on Wednesday.

  • @bookishgiraffe - I'm really sorry you're having such a rough time.  I hope things look up for you soon.  :(
  • @bookishgiraffes - I'm so sorry about your grandpa :( I also hope your pup is ok and your filling is an easy/painless fix. Hugs!

  • @bookishgiraffes so sorry about your grandpa.

    Anniversary

  • @peaseblossom55 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels like they did something wrong and wants to give them back when they start crying.

@allusive007 We just had the same thing happen this month where I was 6 days late and I am seriously like clockwork.  I took 2 tests and they both came back negative.  I was so disappointed it was negative and it really made me and H realize that we are ready.  We are going to start trying this month too.
