Hey hun, are there any songs that you want to add to our wedding playlist?

What does he request?

Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People.

Really? I mean really? Who am I marrying? Lol.

BUT my playlist is looking good so far! I'm excited, lots of great songs. And thankfully, no more about violence and school shootings. :/

  • FI has jokingly suggested "I Tried Voodoo Once" by From A Second Story Window.

A song that is so unintelligible that I made the lyrics on his phone show the ABC's because the singer could be singing them and no one would know.

The first time I heard the song, I started laughing and said, "I totally know the words to this, he just yelled 'I LIKE CHEEEEEEESE'"

    I WANNA SEE YOUR PLAYLIST

Not including Fi's requests (not because I'm vetoing them, just because we have to figure out how to get songs from his iTunes onto my iTunes):
  • Suddenly glad that FI's only request was "You Dropped A Bomb On Me".

We'll see if it sticks though. Our "guest list" is super intimate, JUST our parents. So there really isn't anywhere to hide if my mom pulls a "You're playing THIS song?!"
  • OH! I just came up with an awesome idea: during our menu tasting I can do a test-run of our music and see how it fits with the venue and the flow (I'm trying to decide if I should mix the fast with the slow songs, or if I should try to create "lulls" while people eat or something).
  • We're requesting that our dueling pianos play Rapper's Delight. I hope they can pull it off because one of our guests gave the single best karaoke performance I've ever seen to that song.

This is a good plan! Though if you keep Justify My Love on there, you need to have a hidden camera trained on your mom for her reaction lol

Oh jeeze. Now I HAVE to keep it in. I'm blaming you for the impending scolding from my mother.

Actually, funny story, I was making a playlist to play at one of my jobs once (a bar and grill), and I was running through songs with my parents "what about this song?" "yea that's great!/No, I don't think that'll be good for the crowd./etc". So I say "what about Dancing Queen by ABBA?" and simultaneously my mom goes "isn't that song a little girly?" and dad says "that's a great song!"

So I know my dad's always got my back with my musical choices. :D
  • My fiancee wants the same song! LOL I feel like the playlist is the hardest part!
  • My husband requested Biggie Smalls. And then proceeded to make sure he knew every word to the song he requested so he could rap at the wedding.

And then ended up in a rap battle with one of his friend's girlfriends.
