Ann Arbor Reception Venues

Hi everyone, I am an out of town bride looking to plan a wedding for next spring in Ann Arbor. I seem to be having trouble finding an interesting venue for the reception. I need a place that can accommodate 130-150 guests, and is NOT some crummy banquet hall because I dislike them. I would prefer a location that lets me select my own caterer. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    I'm just starting my planning but just toured the Ann Arbor City Club this past weekend. Its a gorgeous site and has room for your guest list size.  They can do outdoor ceremony's but also had a nice seperate space indoors for the ceremony in case of rain.  The reception would be held in a larger room on the 2nd floor.  Lots of bathrooms, elevators, beautiful windows, gardens etc for pictures.  It was only a block or two from the UM campus.  Still looking at other venues but this one was very high on our list as we don't want the typical banquet hall either! good luck! .

    I've heard good things about the Polo Fields but you can't have your own caterer. Up to 225 guests though. http://www.polofieldsccmi.com/
