I decided to have my dress made when I couldn't find anything I liked in a bridal salon. I bought my lace in the garment district in NYC and am having fun working with a local designer on my dress. The bodice is all lace, and the full skirt is edged in lace, with appliques of lace all over the skirt. Sounds weird, but it's pretty. The neckline is very wide, with lace scalloping at the edge, going basically to the tip of my shoulder. I want to have sleeves, and I'm conflicted about how to use the lace for them. My designer wants to make the sleeve solid lace, but I like the idea of delicate appliques instead. What do you think? Do any of you have photos of your dresses with lace sleeves?
