Bridesmaid dress shopping

Hi everyone,

After the holidays I'm going out with my bridesmaids to find a dress that works for everyone. I would love us to decide on a color and then the maids will pick their favorite style dress in that color. I'm hoping to bring them to Alfred Angelo (specifically in Danvers MA) and possibly David's Bridal though I'm trying to avoid going to multiple places.

Has anyone had any luck at a particiular shop?

Why not try some online shops? some of them are cheap with high quality, take okbridalshop for example, they supply cheap bridesmaid dresses, no extra cost for custom size and color, wrong size, color, style you will get full payment back.
  • Go away, vendor @genuine100.

  • It might be a little far for you, but me and several friends have had great luck and service from Bella's Bridal in Worcester.

We just bought our dresses at the Alfred Angelo in North Attleboro, and it was great. A little pricier than their website would lead you to believe (their site says "Large selection of styles from $99 to $179," but I guess we pulled the wrong dresses because everything we tried was over $140...), but they have such a nice selection not only of styles but of fabric and colors. I chose my colors and let my maids have at the catalog and they had a great time and found dresses they loved.

We found some nice options at David's too (it was just harder to find dresses in the particular shade I wanted).  We tried to go for chain stores because I have maids in MA, VA and CA and that made it a little easier on the logistics side.

Edit: Also, I didn't know until we got there that they can add straps to most of the strapless dresses (which makes sense and I thought we could negotiate, but it's something they specifically offer to do), and they can also get most dresses in either short or full length. So you're not limited to what's strictly visible in the catalog!
  • I am a Boston Bride planning my wedding from Indiana and we went to Alfred Angelo in Danvers, MA.  They were WONDERFUL!  I was a little put off by the reviews on YELP for them but the staff was super nice and helpful!  I have been in there 3 times since May 2014 and everytime they have been patient and easy to work with.  I have 3 Bridesmaids and 1 flower girl in New England and 1 Bridemaid and 2 Flower girls in Indiana.  Alfred Angelo made it very easy to know that everyone would get the dresses in the styles and colors that I had selected.

Note:  I went to David's Bridal in Danvers, MA as well and the staff was nice but I felt they were a little pushy and did not have the style and color selection that Alfred Angelo offered.

    Good Luck!
