men attire

does the color of the tux matter?

Re: men attire

  • Tuxes should generally only be black or white, no matter what Vera Wang says.

But no, the color of the men's attire has little bearing on the validity of your marriage. ;)

  • Nope. A certain someone will tell you all about the rules of a tux and how it must be black and must be worn after 6pm and must have black socks & shoes.

But go for whatever you want. Many people are doing the grey suits these days, which I love. Technically it's a suit, not a tux, but that doesn't matter unless your wedding is black tie.

  • Yes. If the men are wearing tuxes they should be black. If they want to wear suits, which I love, black, gray, and navy are all a classic look. Tuxes are evening formal attire traditionally for after 6, although I'm un offended by them being worn earlier for events that start at 4 and continue through the evening.
  • Thanks ladies! :)

  • Tuxedos should be black.

LOL!  I don't make up these rules.  I just try to educate people about them.
