Happy Animals!

So, we ended up having engine trouble on the way home, and the kitties are here for the night. We've got two friends interested now, and I'd LOVE to get them into happy homes straight off the bat. Two are currently bopping each other and playing a little bit.

Still processing, I guess, but possibly watchable.

Sophie hasn't come over to check them out yet. FI's bestie is over while they fiddle with the truck and she's kinda shy so she'll probably come look later. Schultz, however, walked up to their carrier, poofed his tail, sniffed audibly and then hissed a couple times. I think he's having a pre "You are NOT the father!" Maury moment, because they are marked a LOT like he is.

Update: Currently working on a third placement, one of my college friends! I'm going to be SO happy if I can get them all into safe homes tomorrow!

  • Yay kitties! Some years ago, my future ils were fostering a 3 werk old abandoned ragdoll kitten. Their Russian blue was not happy the first two weeks but after that, he adopted the kitten as his baby and showed the kitten how to cat. Kitten and cat were so bonded thst when bil adopted the kitten, Russian blue went into depression trying to find his little buddy. Bil ended up with two cats. They now live with almost sil.
  • Awww, sleepy kitties!
  • I know it probably feels like a basic thing to do, but thank you for saving these kitties from being abandoned by that jerk.

  • Awe, they're cute. And you're an angel. Thank you for saving them.

  • You are one of my favorite people @beethery. Those kitties don't know how lucky they are you and FI swooped in and saved them.
  • You are the bomb dot com for saving these babies. lady.

I LOVE orange cats. I've always wanted one. Somehow, despite having dozens of cats through my life, the closest I ever got was having some stray toms that liked hanging around my house, and the people across the street from my last apartment had the SWEETEST baby that would run across the street to greet me when he saw me pull in. I'd just sit on the stoop and let him rub all over my legs until he ran back to his house.

Ugh, you're killing me with all the cute! H and I are looking to adopt a rescue in the next month or two, so I've been looking at cats and kittens pretty much non-stop lately.

And my absolute favourite cats are orange tabbies, so that's not helping either :P

  • I think my parents' neighbors are going to take one today. That would be perfect, since one of the prospectives fell through last night.

I'd love to let them out and play with them a little, gotta put Sophie and Schultz up in their room to do that. D goes over and checks them out ALL the time and they just stare at her, it's very funny to see how she acts around them.

  • I want the round one! He looks JUST like my kitty, Buttercup. I got him when I was 5 and had to put him to sleep in college. Hardest day ever. I want a Butters 2.0 at some point but FI isn't wild about cats. He will lose this battle eventually.

Awesome on y'all for helping these little cuties out!

The round one is the most timid and also my favorite. I think they're all boys but I could be wrong.

We've been calling the one with the white socks/mittens/bib 'Accessories' because he's got a lot on.

  • Aww kitties! We just adopted a new one last night :)

    Good on you B!

  • Yay!

Meet my kitties, rescued 7 years ago. They're the happiest and most affectionate felines around!
  • Those kittens are so darn cute. I desperately wish that I could have a kitty, but FI is terribly allergic :(

  • Awww - they are soooo cute.  I love orange tigers!  It is wonderful that you are trying to find them all good homes.  My parents live on a fairly quiet country road and my Dad is a huge animal lover can't tell you how many times he came home with boxes/bags of kittens that had just been dumped by the river...

  • Oops, I forgot to include a picture of my love bug - adopted from a rescue 9 years ago!

  • I didn't realize we should share out kitty pictures too. The black one is Neffie. The muted calico is Callie. The dark Calico is Artie. The doggie is Laci. Poor dh... He is in a house full of women. Lol.
  • Everyone's cats are so CUUUUUTE!

I've currently got two little sets of eyes staring at me. My friend brought the little round timid one home. The vet said orange striped females are VERY rare, and from what I could tell, they're all boys. FIV/Leukemia free!

imageThis sweetie is Cali.  My sister found her hit by a car in the country and took her to the vet a little over five years ago.  She ended up being OK, and turned out to be pregnant.  We did search for an owner, but she had bad frost bite and stuff and was likely a barn cat.  She had a healthy litter of kittens and I kept her, the mommy. She is playful and so loving, you would never know she was "wild" or "feral" (though she was terrified and hid for the first while we had her):image
And this gorgeous princess is Maggie.  I got her nine years ago, unfortunately she wasn't a rescue (don't hate me, I was a kid and I didn't know any better).

ETA  regarding the picture of Cali, yes that is a blanket.  It is kept on that chair pretty much all the time because that is where she likes to chill.

  • I wish I could have one. One of my dogs can't be trusted with cats though. I'm enjoying all the kitty pictures.

My mom adopted (today) a pair of bonded tuxedo cats that had to be re-homed. I can't wait to meet them. Right now they are scared and hiding. Poor babies don't know how lucky they are yet.
