  I'm unsure what exactly you're asking.  You would need as many transfers as you have bags.  Maybe five or so extra in case you mess up a couple.  How many bags you need depends on how many guests/families you're having.  Assuming you are using these as welcome bags for your guests, you would need one per family/couple. 

  
  

  Also, I'm not seeing any instructions, just the picture of the transfer, so I can't say whether they'll work on canvas bags.  However, from my knowledge of transfers and some googling, I think it would work.  You can always buy one transfer and one bag just to try it out and see if it works.
