Add sleeves to dress

Hi lovely ladies!

I was so frustrated when I was looking for my dress because I hate my arms, but I didn't want ugly bulky sleeves or a bolero. No dresses seemed to work so I designed my own! I bought 4 way stretch netting in ivory from a fabric store (High Fashion Fabric in Houston) then I took it to an alterations place and described what I wanted. Viola! Here are the final results.

It looks awesome! Which is great, beause a lot of times, people add sleeves or a cover up of some sort, and it screams "look at me, I'm trying to cover my arms!" but, yours doesn't look like that.

I also think your arms are beautiful and fabulous, even if you didn't cover them up.

And I am also excited to finally see someone else in my dress! I imagine, we are probably about the same size, with the similarly sized arms. Here is the same dress without sleeves on a non-model.

PS - I LOVE you reception dress!

Thanks ladies! QueerFemme, you were actually an inspiration when I found my dress at a second hand store. I went home and googled the dress and saw your pics. I thought you looked great so I bought it.

you are so lucky to have found it second hand!! that's awesome! I bought mine really soon after it came out, so it wasn't anywhere on the used sites or second hand. I love a good bargain!

I love it! Is your reception dress from modcloth? I saw something similar on their website... I'm toying with the idea of a reception dress due to dancing, but... hesitant to just order from online! Also... budget might not like me if I do it. :P

The style is on ModCloth but I actually went into the Trashy Diva storefront in New Orleans since it happened to be 2 blocks from my wedding venue. I have to say, for an outdoor wedding in muggy September, I am so glad I changed! I loved my ceremony dress but it would have been ruined on the streets of NOLA. I recommend an outfit change if it makes sense, otherwise enjoy your beautiful dress that cost so much.

I am selling my reception dress if you are interested.

Size 20 with added sleeves and crystals, and has ability to be sized down easily.
