Romantic dinner suggestions

My wife has been very supportive of my process of purchasing a wedding dress and all the accessories and my upcoming photo session as a bride, but to this point she has chosen to stand back and has not participated in helping me choose my dress, jewelry, etc.  However, as a very pleasant surprise, she is going to come with me to my bridal fitting when my dress comes in (hopefully next week).

Additionally, as a very special surprise, she has proposed the two of going out to dinner the evening of my fitting - with me in my best dress and heels and the whole 9 yards.  This will be a first for us, and is very exciting and a very big deal to me.  The dress I will be wearing is a strapless above the knee special occasion gown I bought recently at J Crew, so it calls for a very nice restaurant.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice special restaurant that will have great food and atmosphere and also would be a good place for me to go fully decked out as Jada.

Thanks in advance everyone.

The only place I can think of is Andiamos, but then again I am more of a cheeseburger lady myself. But I hope you have a wonderful time!!

One of my favorite spots in town is the patio at La Dolce Vita. It's on Woodward, just north of McNichols. The food is great and the restaurant interior is fine, but the patio is where it's at!

I might also recommend one of the casino restaurants -- Wolfgang Puck, Saltwater or Iridescence are all fab! Enjoy!

I love The Melting Pot for a romantic dinner.  Also, it depends on where in the Detroit area you are but I love the Chop House in downtown Rochester.

    Andiamos is great!

I also recommend Mitchell's Fish Market.  They have some very romantic booths.

Vicente's Cuban Restaurant in Downtown Detroit. Their Arroz con Pollo (Chicken with Rice) is really good along with their mojitos.

We just went there last weekend and it was fabulous!!

Another option would be to go down to MGM and have dinner at one of their fancy restaurants.

    These are some great ideas!

I always love going out for a special dinner, but getting to wear a dress and heels for the first time to a nice dinner will make it extra special.

I will gladly put up some pics from that night when it comes!  Thank you so much for asking.  It will probably be within the next few weeks.

I looked at this for our reception site!  I actually haven't been there yet for a meal, but the reviews are great...

Since the Melting Pot came up numerous times, it looks like that will be the destination.  I ate there once several years ago, but not in a dress and heels :)

I'll be sure to post some pics.  Thanks again everyone.
