Affordable Photographers just outside of Boston?

Does anyone have a recommendation for affordable photographers, maybe newer or less-experienced photographers located outside of Boston? I'm looking for someone under $2000 who will be there for 6+ hours. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful!

    I don't know if this is too far for you, but we're about to book with a photographer located in New Bedford whose rates are insanely low -- I think they started at $700 for a 6 hour package with online galleru, plus another $200 for an engagement session, 150-picture proof book and DVD. We're getting married in Worcester and he is not charging any kind of travel fee despite the distance. 

    Frankly, the prices made me suspicious at first, but we met with him last weekend and his work was beautiful, he has tons of recommendations and he's been on the Knot's list the last 3 years in a row, so he seems legit and I'm definitely not looking a gift horse in the mouth! Here's his site: 

    Good luck! We are working with a similar budget and had to sift through so many photographers just beyond our budget -- it can be hard, but there are affordable folks out there!

    She's done our engagement photos already and they are fabulous. She is also definitely in your price range, even for more than 6 hours and including an engagement session.

    ETA: She's located in the Quincy/Braintree area.

    Try following some photogs you like on facebook or something. To drum up business, they may have social media specific contests. That's how I got my photographer - even though I didn't win her contest, she offered $1000 (basically free digital rights) on any of her packages to the entrants. It could be a good way to get a photographer you couldn't regularly afford.

    We're using Paul Robert Berman who is located on the South Shore but works all over the region. He's great if you want someone to do photojournalist style photography, probably not the best option if you want something more traditional (for example, he doesn't take shot lists.) Very professional, his work is beautiful, and he's very reasonable/realistic about pricing.

    I am completely obsessed with Daniela Dawson, based in Rhode Island, but doing weddings all around New England. She just shot our intimate, winter wedding and I am astounded at the results. The best part is that this is the warmest person to work with and she was an absolute ray of sunshine through our wedding day. Highly, highly, highly recommend!
