Restaurant locations for small wedding?

Hi girls:

I got married last Nov, but my mom recently became engaged and is looking to have a small ceremony/party as it is her second wedding. She wants to steer clear of any large catering hall type venues. I wanted to see if any of you had any recomnmendations in Rockland or westchester (preferrably lower westchester) for any restaurants that can host a wedding of 50-75 people?

Initially, I was thinking she should check out Harvest on Hudson and Half Moon, but if you guys have other recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

Def check out Harvest on the Hudson. One of my good friends mom owns it and she took us there for dinner last January and it was sooo good. They have a private room that can be used as well. Very pretty views of the river as well.

    As pp's have said:

    Harvest on the Hudson
    Half Moon
    La Triestina

    Also,

    Sunset Cove in Tarrytown

    and

(if you or anyone wants to venture further north)

Four Brothers Italian Restaurant in Mahopac. Beautiful lakeside setting, wonderful food and has a private party room with private entrance and restrooms.

PS - Congrats to your mom!

Sure. They have 4 separate pkgs plus a buffet pkg which they require there be at least 50 people for. I chose option 4 and I can post the other prices once I get home. Ours is $44.95 I believe because it has seafood in it. The lowest one I believe is $29.95 but dont quote me till I get home. They show the menu's on the site. I can give you the prices I have at home. Also for beer, wine and soda is an additional $10 pp or open bar for $20 pp. And you can add a cocktail hour for I think $10 pp.

Oh and the plus too about La Triestina...the wedding can be held there (as u can see by the gazebo and the tent they have) and they do not charge extra to use for that purpose so it saves a bit of money there.

Ok Buffet menu is $35 pp. For $40 pp it includes beer, wine and soda & for $50 pp is open bar. It says Open bar is for 3 hrs and min of 50 ppl for buffet.

    Menu 1 is $29.95
    Menu 2 is $34.95
    Menu 3 is $39.95
    Menu 4 is $45.95

I believe they show the menu on their site. But I think you should definitely go and eat there to try their food. Its AMAZING! We took FMIL there a couple of weeks ago and everyone was amazed =)

I'm not sure how small you are looking for, but the SkyTop Steakhouse in Kingston is awesome. I am having my reception there and we are planning for about 100, but they will take less.
They have really reasonable prices, and they will do sit down or buffet dinners and they also have the option of open bar. We chose buffet (includes 6 appetizer choices, fruit/cheese/crackers, meat carving, chicken, fish/pasta and potato) and I think it was about $60 pp. It is amaaaazing food, too. And the waitstaff is really nice.
I don't know if you are familiar with the restaurant, but they have really big windows overlooking Kingston. They also have an outdoor patio where I have seen pictures of wedding ceremonies being held.

    Good luck to your mom!
