Gifts for Wedding Party Dates

We are inviting our wedding party's dates to the rehearsal dinner. Are we expected to have gifts for them to? I feel like as a date I wouldn't expect it but idk what etiquette is for this.

No, of course not. They are not members of your wedding party. You give your WP gifts to thank them for being part of your wedding. Nobody needs to be thanked for being someone's date.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

You would only give the wedding party a gift, and even THAT is not mandatory. It's a nice touch and shows your appreciation but they shouldn't expect it. The date should be happy they were even invited to the rehearsal LOL!

It is "mandatory" in the sense of etiquette to give every member of your wedding party a gift as a thank you for being a party of your and your H's wedding.

    This.

It's also mandatory to invite dates, so they shouldn't be jumping for joy that they were "even invited".

To the bolded above, yes, because going to a rehearsal where you play no part in the actual ceremony so you have to sit there and be bored for 45 minutes so ZOMG so much fun!  And then you get to go to a dinner where you may or may not know anyone besides your SO and listen to toasts/speeches about inside jokes and possibly see a slideshow of the soon to be married couple as naked babies is again ZOMG so much fun!
