how many bridesmaids?

how many bridesmaids is too much? i have 9 and my fiancé only has 5 groomsmen. What would you do in this case? thinking about having guys already up at the altar and have the BM's walk in one by one.... my FI thinks it will look silly when up on the alter. thoughts?

    Its a personal preference. Have who you feel means most to you. Your photographer will work with the pictures to get the best looks. A wedding I was in had similar numbers an the Bride decided to have 5 couples walk the aisle and the remaining 4 girls walk in pairs. You will not have even numbers at the alter but I don't think it will look weird. Hers didnt. The focus is on you and your groom!

    I had 5 and he had 3. There were no problems. 

    At the beginning of the ceremony, we had the girls go in one by one with the guy already up there. When we had the recessional, 2 of the guys had 2 ladies on each arm going down. No one cared.
