Walking down the aisle (help).

My partner and I both want to walk down the aisle with our dad and we are having some trouble figuring out how. I'm not fond of the one-at-a-time approach. Ideas?

Re: Walking down the aisle (help).

  • If your venue allows, try two aisles?  FI and I thought about that, but our venue space won't really allow for it to work.

I've seen a wedding where one person walked with her parents to about halfway up the aisle and then paused.  Then, the second set walked up and the met there, hugged, etc, and then the two walked each other up to the front.  It was beautiful.

My FI and I are being escorted by our parents.  She is going first.  It worked with our space, and we each wanted our "own" time to walk down the aisle.  If you walk at the same time from two separate aisles, you won't really have your own time.  It took a lot of discussion to figure out if that part was important to us or not.
  • I would suggest due to space and allowing everyone to see each one of you and grasp and take it all in that each of you walk down with your father one at a time then one goes right afterwards. I would strongly suggest thinking about it,

Also I agree with maybe seeking a venue that has a way to create two pathways but again I think it would be a lot of guest to take in and not have each moment to shine. The wedding show be a moment you both get the taste of light :)

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the advice! We'll be going down a single aisles one ofter the other. It's a small space but beautiful (right on the water!) and such a small wedding that we're not going to try two paths. Now we're just bickering a bit over who gets to walk in last. :) This is so exciting!

    Rock, paper, scissors FTW.
