Leaving for our honeymoon (Tahiti) in 7 days. Advice or suggestions?

Hey everyone!

We had an amazing wedding last weekend (6.26) and things are finally getting settled. We scheduled our honeymoon a little later because I knew I couldn't pack for that and deal with the wedding weekend (lots of OOT guests).

Now that my mind is in the right place, any recommendations for packing things we wouldn't expect/think of? Anywhere we need to go/see/do/eat? TIA

There are a few solid packing lists online. Google "Tahiti packing lists" and a few will pop up. I printed one of them out and keep it with my travel essentials. As much as I go to Tahiti, I still use the packing list as a checklist.

What islands are you visiting? We can't tell you what to see or where to eat unless we know where you'll be, as you really can't easily island hop. I also recommend getting some insider tips from your travel agent, assuming you used a Tahiti specialist.

We did use a travel agent familiar with Tahiti, she recommended a few things that we booked. Thanks for the suggestion for packing lists . We are going to Moorea

I was in Moorea in Oct 2013 but didn't leave the resort for meals. Same for my 2010 trip. However, during my 2008 visit, I ate at Allo Pizza (very casual, but may need  bike or car depending on where you are staying and Alfredos. Te Hono Iti and Mahogony are also popular.

As for activities, last time I was there I did an ATV Tour, jet skis (from Moorea Pearl), and a Lagoonarium.

I enjoyed renting a car for a half day on previous trips. You can get around the island in 3 hours, even with stops. Most cars are manual, though.

I've stayed at most of the resorts on the island and it's gorgeous!

Where are you staying in Moorea? We stayed at the Hilton and walked (maybe 5 min at most) almost daily to a lunch cart in someone's back yard (called Lilikoi Garden Cafe) - delicious and cheap! We ordered Allo Pizza and hated it, but I'm very picky about pizza.  We usually went out to eat most nights - many of the restaurants would pick you up and take you back to your hotel for free.

We rented a car one day and drove around the island- we stopped for lunch at Snack Mahana - very good, again in someone's back yard, but right on the water.  Bought pearls at Eva Perles.  Stocked up on water at the grocery store across from Eva Perles (sooo MUCH cheaper than at the resort).  We also did the ATV tour with Alberts.

So jealous! I can't wait to go back.
