Feeding each other cupcakes?

We're just doing cupcakes (plus misc desserts) instead of having a cake. We're not planning on doing a "cupcake cutting" but I had an idea to just feed each other the cupcakes. Is this common? Is that weird to just go up and feed each other cupcakes? And if anyone's done this before, how did the DJ announce it, if no cutting is going on?

    I think that's very sweet. You're still completing the tradition of feeding one another. I'm not sure it needs to be announced however. Perhaps the D.J. could just announce that dessert is available, and you two could be served your cupcakes to feed one another and be photographed.

    I agree with Blue Bird.  No announcement is needed.  I have never understood having everyone gather round to watch you cut the cake and feed each other.  Right at the end of dinner I would just grab your photographer and head over to where the cupcakes are.  Feed each other and then have the DJ announce that dessert is available.
