Outdoor Ceremony

I am planning my wedding for May of 2016 and need suggestions on an outdoor location to host our wedding ceremony. We've already booked the reception at the beautiful Eiffel Society on St. Charles Avenue. I want to escort my guests to the reception site with a second line, so it must be within walking distance. I really like the idea of a courtyard ceremony, but any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Re: Outdoor Ceremony

  • Sorry, no venue suggestions but make sure you have a rain plan.  LA is very rainy/stormy in May.  Good luck, it's a wonderful city to get married in.
  • Thank you for the advice. We can use our reception venue for a ceremony back-up if there is inclement weather.
  • Just an update for you - we had our wedding May 30th and it rained nearly every day this May which is not unusual.  It was no big deal for us as we had ceremony and reception inside but I was wondering if you thought about doing your second line after your reception?  The May storms are typically in the afternoon and pass quickly.  By the time my reception was in full swing, the rain was gone.  We had a large balcony with an overhang so rain wasn't an issue but just wanted to prepare you (unless you live there, then you know) that it rains nearly every day that time of year but it usually done by early evening.  Hope all is well, less than one year to go!
  • Thanks for the update, glad the rain didn't hinder your wedding fun. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for clear skies, but you never know around here. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, so I understand how bipolar the weather can be. Congratulations on your nuptials!
  • Hotel Mazzarin has a courtyard with a retractable roof and I believe their fee is $850.  Not sure how far it is for you.  But just FYI, we got married April 25th last year and it POURED.  The rain let up just enough for the courtyard ceremony thank god, but keep that in mind.
