Picture Location Ideas

Beside Stan Hywet who is booked the day of our wedding, does anyone have any good picture locations in the Akron area? The wedding will be in August.

Re: Picture Location Ideas

  • Where is your reception/venue? It that way it's easier to name some locations that aren't too far out of your way.
  • St. George's in Fairlawn.
  • Sand Run Metroparks might have some good spots to check out, especially by the Seiberling Nature Realm.

A little further out is the covered bridge on Everett Road, it'd be about 20 mins away, and there is a sweet old church called The Church in the Valley, but you could always start there and work your way back, not far from there is Hale Farm and Village, if you like the more vintage backdrops. I'd call to see if they would charge you though, I'm not sure how that works.

Check out the Medina County Parks website too, there are a lot of great little parks and areas that would be beautiful in the summer!

You could always call and see if your wedding party would be able to use the Gardens at the Akron Zoo, and that would even take you into downtown. If you are looking for more urban spaces, it might be worth the drive to downtown, to see if the Akron Civic Theater would allow you to take pictures there. There are a lot of really neat, old buildings downtown too!

If your photographer is from the area, he/she should have some good ideas as well!

    Good Luck!
