Favor Idea- Yay or Nay?

Let me just preface this by saying, we will only be doing favors if our budget allows.

So, FI and I are getting married in TX. I am from OH. The wedding will be small-ish (around 50 people excluding vendors). 80% of the guests are from TX.

There is a small, mom and pop chocolate and ice cream shop in my hometown (consistently voted one of the best in the nation....check out Dietsch's Brothers if you're ever in Findlay, OH, you won't regret it). I was thinking of getting boxes of 4 buckeyes (aka chocolate dipped peanut butter balls) and having the store wrap them in white gift paper. Then I would stamp "Thank You" and a heart on each one and place them on the tables. I'd really like to incorporate something from back home since I'm a bit disappointed we are not getting married there.

FYI: there are no peanut allergies to watch out for

I used Buckeyes as my favors (Ohioan living out of state now). They were a hit! I typically make them at Christmas anyways and give them out, but my friends and family all knew it was our Ohio touch. I did buy them for the wedding though, one less thing for me to do.

Sounds good to me. I'm not a fan of peanut butter or chocolate (together or separate) but my FH would be very, very delighted to take my favor off my hands.

OMG yes. My mom makes buckeyes every year for Christmas and they are the best! I pretty much eat a batch myself every year!

Plus I think that's a great way to bring a little bit of home to your wedding!

I think that is a great idea! We gave caramels made in Indiana as favors at my daughter's Chicago wedding, and they were a big hit! People were walking around looking for ones that were left behind - not many to be found.

I love buckeyes, so this is a big yes from me, I am wondering what the ice cream shop had to do with it? are they the ones making the buckeyes? or were you shipping ice cream as well? I live in Cincinnati and have friends that ship Graters ice cream to them selves all the time.

@ryanandjoe4 Yes, the ice cream shop is the one making the buckeyes. I guess it's more of an ice cream and fancy chocolate shop.

I was an MOH recently and the bride's mother made Buckeyes for the welcome bags. It's literally the only thing people still talk about from the wedding. So, great idea!!

Also a former Ohioan, so big thumbs up for buckeyes as favors. Also, chocolate and peanutbutter are pretty much my favorite combo ever, so I would love them regardless.
