TGIF Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody else just OVER this week????

Let's complain together.

I am totally over the fact that I am having to go back fix other peoples' mistakes at work from a couple of years ago - before I was even hired on. I am tired of people playing the blame game and never getting anywhere when I'm trying to fix these mistakes because nobody will give me straight answers. My back and shoulders/neck hurt constantly from stress related tension, and I'm sure sitting in an office chair all day isn't helping matters any.

Next up, I am tired of it taking me an hour or more to get home every night because of traffic. If there was no traffic, it would only take me 25 minutes or less. I feel like I waste so much of my day on my commute to and from work.

Can it be Saturday already? I'd even settle for Friday night.

I have been officially told that I just create more work for my boss, and if he loses me it will just be less work for him..... forget the fact that I brought the lab out of the dark ages and into the 21st century, made everything more efficient, correct all my co-workers mistakes (like not being able to put things in alphabetical order, clean ANYTHING.), and take care of literally everything.. Sooo time to move on. He has been accusing me of not following methods correctly everyday, to the point where I am so pissed off I am in tears. I am worried that the next time he says "I don't think you moved that bottle because the maker lines I made to see if it moved still line up?" I might respond, "Fuck you and your bottle see how you survive without me you fucking spaz!" and walk the fuck out. I already told him I have OCD and my brain lines things up subconsciously, or it will erk me, and I will fix it, with out knowing.

After our little talk I applied to like 5 better jobs.. I have been looking since the wedding, had a few call backs already, I had a feeling this was coming since I actually think about data, and use my brain, and they want someone who just give numbers with no thought, they have that in my co-worker, so:

Tomorrow is my last day of work before vacation..  It's really slow right now.  I usually only work about 5 hours on Fridays.   I do not get paid time off, so I really should stay longer tomorrow.  I doubt I will though.       At least I have my PTO fund I've been saving for times like these.

Jr Girls have a volleyball game Friday.  So I will be in costume, at another school throwing the ball over the net for triple ball.  This costume is not throwing a ball friendly.  Should be interesting

If it makes you feel any better, my commute is 2 hours each way. Most on a train so there are some other things I can do, but not the things I'd really want to do... and sometimes I don't get a seat on the way home.

I feel you on the commute. I drive 1.25 hours each way every day. Granted, I live 70 miles away so that was to be expected.

I'm working tonight for my Halloween event so I'm ready for 9:00 to roll around.

I can't even imagine.  The longest commute I've had was about 45 minutes.

My current commute is leaving my bedroom, going down a flight of stairs.  Grabbing some chocolate milk and water. Then going down another flight of stairs.  Boom.  I'm at work.   So exhausting I tell you.

It needs to be the END of today! I spent all yesterday afternoon fixing a web site for our department and emailed my boss and his boss to tell them it was done if they wanted to take a look at it. I got in this morning and had an email from him saying "I changed the buttons to the ones I like, I replaced the banner (even though I told them I am having one created), and I decided I don't want this button posted".. OK, so what you're telling me is maybe you should have just done it? Yep, I think so.

I like the feedback on the sites but how about you tell me what you don't like and we can talk about it instead of just changing it yourself. Makes me feel like I waste all of my time. 4.5 weeks left! Then I am OUT OF THERE!

I was so annoyed last night.  On Wednesday, my alma mater had an anonymous donor say they would give a crapload of money to the university if a certain number of alumni donated on that day.  So, sure - I gave.  I'll be a good sport.  My email was spammed the week and days leading up to the event (which I can appreciate to an extent).

Last night, I'm at dinner with DH and my phone rings.  Stupidly, I see that it's a number from my college and answer it.  It was a student asking if I wanted to donate to the university's scholarship fund.  I JUST GAVE YOU MONEY 24 HOURS AGO YOU GREEDY BASTARDS!!!!!

HA!! It must have been the week for annoying alumni campaigns then! Too funny.

Re: the college campaigns. I screen those calls for sure!
But the other day, a call came up with an area code and first three numbers that matched the area I grew up in, so I didn't screen, thinking what if it were the hospital or police about my parents? Nope, just my high school... also asking for money.

I also once donated to the public programming channel, and now I get letters at my home for both me as an individual under my maiden name and Mr and Mrs. MarriedName. I told them to not mail two letters to this household and why, but instead, they just changed my maiden name to my married name and still continue to send me two sets of stuff. UGH.

I screen those calls so hard. Luckily my college has its own area code so it's super easy. I would feel bad, but they charge so much that I don't feel I should give them any more money for a few more years.

I mostly don't answer strange calls, I figure if it's the police or the hospital they will leave a voicemail asking me to call some number and I can call them back. I made the mistake of answering a random call this week during work hours - it was this guitar company I purchased a Christmas gift from last year. The gift was for my FIL and I don't shop at that store, so I unsubscribed from their email list. Apparently that meant that they called me and inquired why I left them. And then the guy emailed me contact information just in case I need it. I bought guitar stands from you once! Dude, just settle.

Yeah, I normally screen those calls (and I wish I had this time).  I had posted a mini-rant about it on Facebook when I had a missed call from my college on Tuesday night (the area code & prefix was a dea giveaway).  A few classmates kind of guilted me to give the student callers another chance.  So when the phone rang last night (while out to dinner w/ DH), I answered.  *sigh*.

I used to go by my middle name (I legally changed my name after I got married to drop my superflous former first name).  The calls used to address me as my old first name (which I HATED).  It was especially painful since at the time I was serving on the local board of our alumni chapter, so thtey should've had my real name in the system.  Luckily last night, they just addressed me as "M. Holy Guacamole"  (M was my former first initial).  I don't know anyone who likes to be addressed including their initial, but it was better than what it was, I guess.

It was painfully obvious that this kid was reading the whole thing from a script.  It was so humiliating.

I emailed the alumni relations person at the university this morning to complain, and they still haven't answered my main question .... if they just had a major campaign on Wednesday (I got 4 emails about it on Tuesday and 3 emails on Wednesday), then why in the heck were they calling on Thursday?  Too soon.

See I always assume I'm letting the student caller off easy with not answering. If I were a student caller I would be praying to get no answers so I didn't have to talk to people (this would be a horrible job for me). I assume they're not getting paid by the donation or anything like that, so not answering really isn't hurting them. What reasons did you classmates use when they guilted you?

Small school, should boost community between current students & alumni, good to give money for scholarships, blah blah blah.
