DJ with drummer accompaniment

Hey ladies! I'm curious if any of you have hired a cocktail drummer/percussionist to play along with your DJ at your reception or have been to a wedding that did. How was it?

I haven't seen it at a wedding, but I did see it a long time ago at a dance club. It was... weird. Like the sound was completely unbalanced. I wouldn't recommend it for a wedding.

  • It seems weird and out of place at a wedding. I'd probably skip it.
  • Well, I've heard of playing drumrolls when the MC announces the entrance of the couple, first dance, cake cutting, or something like that, but I can't see hiring someone to do that unless the drummer is part of a band that you're hiring.

If there's just going to be an MC and recordings played by a DJ, you might as well have the DJ play a recording of drumrolls when the MC makes announcements.
