Any Young Brides Planning Destination Weddings?

Hey, everybody! I just got engaged in February and my fiancé and I are thinking of a destination wedding to Aruba in May 2017. Anybody else thinking destination?

Re: Any Young Brides Planning Destination Weddings?

  • My FI and I are having our wedding in Florida (we are from Ohio) next May :)
  • We originally had a million ideas for a destination wedding (my favorite being Disney!).  We then decided that our guests meant more than our venue and are having a wedding back home so we can celebrate this time in our life with them. Happy planning, though! I want to renew my vows in a destination setting!
  • Hey there! I am getting married in Aruba in June 2016. Have you ever been to Aruba? It is definitely pricey than a lot of other destination locations and while they have all inclusive resorts, they aren't as common due to how safe the island is it's easy to go around to restaurants and try to local cuisine. We got engaged in Aruba so it was a special place to us and knew that's where we had to have the wedding. It really is such an amazing place!
  • My FI and I are getting married in Florida next August! So excited! Happy planning!
  • Destination weddings work best for couples with a small guest list.  This was not an option for my daughter, since her FIs family was huge and local.  Do not try to have a big wedding in a far away destination if you have a lot of family who will be unhappy about not attending your wedding.

Here is a good website for planning an Aruba wedding.  http://www.visitaruba.com/things-to-do/weddings-and-honeymoons/getting-married-in-aruba/

  • We are planning to marry with our immediate family somewhere abroad. We want to keep the cost on the lower end. Any other brides finding adorable destinations?
  • I know that you are new to the Knot, but it is considered bad internet manners to post on a thread that is more than a month old.  This was from last April!  The OP is long gone.  Do feel free to ask any questions on a new post yourself, but leave the old threads alone, please.
@KnotRiley or KnotHolly. please close this zombie thread.
