Ideas for a gift for my new step son

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what an appropriate gift would be for my soon-to-be son? He is 7 years old and is very close to his daddy, but he does not like anything remotely "girly" (whatever that means to a 7 year old...)

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

    What would you give him for his birthday or Christmas?  If you don't know, you might ask his father.

    The one recommendation most of us would make is to do the gift-giving in private and not at your wedding ceremony.

    What about tickets to a sporting event for just you and him? Or is there a place he loves to go like the zoo that you can get a family membership to? Then you would have a gift that keeps on giving.
