Why the lack of communication with the website transition?

I purchased a url for our wedding website through the Knot in July 2015. Our wedding was not til October 2016 but I wanted to go ahead and have a place to send people with the plethora of questions we were going to be asked. I had no reason to edit it daily or even monthly so I was not informed that the website would be switching formats. No email went out and there was no mention of it on our main dashboards (which I was checking weekly if not daily). Now that this has switched, I had to make a whole new website. I reached out to the Knot for assistance regarding retrieving my url which is still active and removing our old website. It has been a few days and I have yet to hear from anyone. All of my stationary is printed with the old website url and now I am afraid to send out my save the dates until this in dealt with. 

While I do love the new websites and think they are much better than the old model, I hate how the transition was handled. I hope that I hear from someone soon.
