Re: Tuesday Chatter

  • @TwoDimes hahaha I just keep re-reading and cringing now.  I'm rephrasing... first child in the family.

  • @500days - AW your HF recipes! We have been skipping a lot of weeks and just re-making old HF recipes that we love.

    @speakeasy14 - YAY EMMY!!

@wink0erin - I am always more motivated to do work outside of work! I like a change of scenery.
  • @eilis1228 ooo that's scary! I'm glad you and @audrewuh are ok. We had bad hail here last week and it sounded like it was going to come through the window.

@AlPacina Happy belated birthday Marv! I'm glad you made it home ok even if it was a late and sleepless night for you!

@eilis1228 Yikes! I'm glad your car wasn't damaged though!!! That would be horrible! Time to sell that stuff in the garage huh? ;)

  • @alapcina - I have never heard of that movie! But we hadn't thought of that. Time to list all the brands we use for detergent, TP, toothpaste, etc.

@eilis1228 - That's the worst part of a new car....you are so crazy protective of it! When I got my new car last month I didn't even want to drive it because I didn't want the mileage to go up. I'm glad there wasn't any damage to your area and that @audrewuh was OK! That sounds scary!
  • @AlPacina omg that gif was me Saturday night hahaha -- Happy birthday again Marv!

@eilis1228 geez, glad your car wasn't damaged! Also glad that @audrewuh was able to get to you safely!  Hopefully you have fun tomorrow touring venues and stuff.  My request would be cake tasting and champagne haha

  • Random Q... my hands and feet get INSANELY cold (I have Raynaud's) and socks/gloves really aren't an option most of the time with my work. The EXTREMELY HELPFUL advice from the specialist I saw a while back was "stay warm." No shit. Things I read online have been just as helpful, like, "If you live in a colder climate consider moving somewhere warmer."  :#

Anyone else have this issue? Any tips for warming without interrupting work? I have found walking around or flailing my hands to be pretty effective, but that's also not always an option. I'm about to make tea just to have something warm to hold.

@wink0erin Not even fingerless gloves? What about a small space heater?

  • @labro I have a space heater at my office which I use frequently, but when I'm on the road I can't bring a heater with me. :(

  • @wink0erin I have Raynauds as well, and have received the same super helpful advice of "stay warm."  My problem areas are my hands and feet.  I feel weird wearing gloves indoors, so I just keep an eye on my hands.  If I notice they're blue, I'll stick them between my legs.  Sometimes I'll just fill a mug with warm water just to hold.

  • @wink0erin - I second @labro's advice for finger-less gloves They even have ones that plug in to your USB and heat up. If that's not an option what about a heating pad of some sort of the rest of your body? Either a plug in or a microwaveable one on your lap or behind your back might help?
  • @speakeasy14 It is SO annoying! I wish there was a supplement or something I could take.

@jenjen047 USB warming gloves sound amazing. The rest of my body is fine, it's only my hands and feet that get insanely cold. Sometimes I feel overheated on the rest of my body and just my hands are cold. It is so annoying.

  • @wink0erin the worst! And same rest of body gets way too hot.  I had a fleece on in Chicago and was sweating, yet my hands were still ice cold.  I also keep hand warmers around, so on bad days will shove in a pocket, shoes, or just keep on my desk and hold.

  • @wink0erin, I tend to make tea or other hot beverages to hold. Or go run hot water over my hands.

  • @wink0erin you'll probably see this tomorrow since it's late, but my H works outside 90% of the time and he always keeps HotHands in his truck. He picks them up at Lowes. I did find them on amazon here
  • @AlPacina OMG that action shot... So cute!
