@pambeesly524 I have a ton of meetings this week before we go on school vacation...I feel your pain. I'm free right now though, so I can breath for a second.

I'm so glad that I am able to come on and say hi to everyone! I read yesterday's thread and I loved seeing all of the pictures from the amazing GTG in Chicago! I had such a blast and I am glad I got meet many of you. You are all so fun and I can't wait to do it again.

I miss you all already!

Today I am supposed to get my new phone and a hello fresh delivery...even more reason for me to rush home after school. I'll cook dinner and rewatch people vs. OJ with my H since we didn't get to this weekend. As always, I'll come back and read up on everyone's Tuesday.

P&R... I've been in meetings all morning and have a few more this afternoon. Work is absolutely insane right now. I anticipate bringing home a lot of work tonight too. Ugh.

Last night we had a freak hail storm. A town really close to me had baseball sized hail, and their schools are closed today due to all the damage. We had MUCH smaller hail, but my car was exposed to it. The second it hit the window, I ran around screaming, "NONONONONONO!" and ran outside into the storm to move my car into our garage. The garage has a bunch of crap in it that we intend to sell, and we can't fully fit either of our cars in it, so we haven't been parking in it. Luckily the wind was blowing all the hail away from the garage, so once I moved the car in, it was fine. The hail of course stopped like 2 minutes after I did that too. I was completely soaked and in a foul mood. Stupid Texas weather. So unpredictable. My boss informed me that we will allegedly get more hail and severe storms tonight. 0_0

Poor @audrewuh was on the road to my place when it hit. She didn't have any damage either, but talk about a stressful trip! She said she could barely see the road in front of her! We immediately went to the grocery store and bought gummies and chocolate, and we opened a bottle of wine and ordered pizza when we got back to my place. Diets be damned! I think the secret to our creativity is a sugar rush-- we were completely unproductive with our sewing for the first 2 hours she was there, and then suddenly we had an epiphany and had the most productive 2 hours of sewing we've ever had! Gummy worms for the win!

Tonight I need to take Zoey to the dog park, work out, make dinner, do laundry (I'm down to my last pair of undies! Eek!), and WORK. Tomorrow I'm supposed to work from home, but I'll really be touring a venue and going wedding dress shopping with my cousin. I'm the MOH in the wedding, and she wants me and her mom with her tomorrow for all this stuff.

I'm also taking Friday off to have a very chill day with H. We will turn off our cell phones and relax. It will be amazing. However, to make up for being out, I'll be working A LOT between now and then. *sigh*

I'll try and come back today and respond to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

@minskat30 – I never ever got to try a cupcake. I should have sucked it up and forced the sugar overdose. I’m sure it would have been fine.

@jenjen047 – Good luck on the interview! I remember loving the movie Green Card as a teenager, as random as that is, haha. Make sure you know what brand of toothpaste you use! I think that was their downfall. Jk, you got this!

@futuremrshistorian – I love your office door unlock story! I’ve totally done stuff like that before. Especially early in the morning.

@speakeasy14 – The fact that you even got that out of “blood niece” is 100% a reflection on you, haha.

@eilis1228 – I have decided to stop complaining about the unpredictable weather here. Chicago completely showed me up! I have no doubt that Texas is also insane……. And here I was complaining about a day that’s sun/rain storm/sun. That kind of seems like NBD now.

I'm back!

My flight from Chicago was supposed to get in at 10 pm on Sunday night, so I figured I'd get to bed late and then be fine. Well, then my plane had issues, so it was delayed a couple of hours, and I definitely wasn't able to sleep thanks to the giant group of teenage females completely surrounding me. I finally got home and into bed around 2 am and decided to just send an email to my admin saying I would either be late or absent at work yesterday. I decided to go with absent, and slept, then slept some more, then took a bath. I think I'm mostly caught up on sleep now, luckily.

Chicago was such a great time! How I managed to stay up until after 2 o'clock for three nights in a row, and still get up at a decent hour, I have no idea. I honestly don't think I've EVER done that before. New PR, woooo!!!

Yesterday was Marv's birthday, but since I didn't even manage to shower I'm going to make it up to him today and get his nails trimmed, then let him choose some new toys and treats at the pet store. He's 3 years old!

@alapcina - I have never heard of that movie! But we hadn't thought of that. Time to list all the brands we use for detergent, TP, toothpaste, etc.

@eilis1228 - That's the worst part of a new car....you are so crazy protective of it! When I got my new car last month I didn't even want to drive it because I didn't want the mileage to go up. I'm glad there wasn't any damage to your area and that @audrewuh was OK! That sounds scary!

Random Q... my hands and feet get INSANELY cold (I have Raynaud's) and socks/gloves really aren't an option most of the time with my work. The EXTREMELY HELPFUL advice from the specialist I saw a while back was "stay warm." No shit. Things I read online have been just as helpful, like, "If you live in a colder climate consider moving somewhere warmer."

Anyone else have this issue? Any tips for warming without interrupting work? I have found walking around or flailing my hands to be pretty effective, but that's also not always an option. I'm about to make tea just to have something warm to hold.

@labro I have a space heater at my office which I use frequently, but when I'm on the road I can't bring a heater with me.

@wink0erin I have Raynauds as well, and have received the same super helpful advice of "stay warm." My problem areas are my hands and feet. I feel weird wearing gloves indoors, so I just keep an eye on my hands. If I notice they're blue, I'll stick them between my legs. Sometimes I'll just fill a mug with warm water just to hold.

@wink0erin - I second @labro's advice for finger-less gloves They even have ones that plug in to your USB and heat up. If that's not an option what about a heating pad of some sort of the rest of your body? Either a plug in or a microwaveable one on your lap or behind your back might help?

@jenjen047 USB warming gloves sound amazing. The rest of my body is fine, it's only my hands and feet that get insanely cold. Sometimes I feel overheated on the rest of my body and just my hands are cold. It is so annoying.

@wink0erin the worst! And same rest of body gets way too hot. I had a fleece on in Chicago and was sweating, yet my hands were still ice cold. I also keep hand warmers around, so on bad days will shove in a pocket, shoes, or just keep on my desk and hold.

I took a long lunch today so I wouldn't have to drive the (belated) birthday boy around later.

First, we got his nails trimmed at the groomer, and this little ball of crazy kept trying to jump over the 3'+ counter, almost succeeding!

Being in the groomer stresses my pup out a ton, so I made sure he would immediately be spoiled at the pet store next door. He got a new bee toy:
