Best places to stay

hello! I'm getting married at the chapel of flowers 11-11-16! I'm booking Bentley & Wilson tonight! However I'm still trying to figure out where to stay. Want to stay on the strip somewhere nice but not crazy expensive. We were looking at The Luxor. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Best places to stay

  • Luxor is not nice.  I'd look at Mandalay/Delano if you don't mind being that far south, otherwise, central strip Caesars is very nice, inexpensive but reasonable is Flamingo, often less than Caesars and not quite as nice would be Cosmo.

  • I respectfully disagree. We have stayed at the Luxor several times, and find it suits us pretty well. We like the properties on the south end, and find it relatively easy to get to mid strip.  I certainly prefer it to similarly priced options. (Excalibur/Harrahs/Flamingo)  The Tower rooms are nicer, but a little further from the casino floor, if that matters.  One tower is pretty close to the walkway to over to Excalibur.

If the budget allows, MGM or Mandalay Bay are certainly nicer, but I would take Luxor over an MGM West Wing room, hands down. Mirage is also more centrally located, and often not too expensive. I think suggesting Cosmo or Caesar's to someone who says they are avoiding expensive, is not really respecting their budget....

  • It depends on what you're looking at. Maybe consider doing Hotel32 on top of the Monte Carlo. It's a little ritzier but it might be an option within your budget, depending on where you're travelling. I wouldn't want to stay at the Excalibur or Harrah's for my wedding (though I've stayed at both, including Harrah's for our scouting trip).

For a budget choice, I would actually go with the Linq. It's not south-strip, but the rooms have been reno'd recently and the property is a lot of fun.

  • Hi there!
We stayed at the Bellagio and loved it! However, having looked around the different hotels when we were there, next time we would like to try the Cosmopolitan, Mandalay Bay or the Mandarin Oriental. Mind you, the Bellagio was awesome, but we would like to try something different next time.
We used Todd from Bentley and Wilson and he was awesome! The pictures should arrive any day now, can't wait to see them!
  • We stayed at The Flamingo leading up to our wedding and then NY NY after.

Flamingo's in a great location and our upgraded room was nice. It was loud though. A lot of the rooms face noisy parts of the strip and the walls are thin so you hear your neighbors. I'd probably check out The Linq instead if I wanted to stay in that area again.

NY NY was nice and quiet. The hotel room was good and there's a lot of restaurants inside the hotel. I'd definitely recommend the piano bar. It's also easy to get to the surrounding hotels with the walkways and tram.

I've heard good things about rooms at The Luxor towers. The pyramid rooms aren't supposed to be as nice. I've also stayed at Monte Carlo a couple of times and always enjoyed it.

The luxors nice, quite abit away from the centre of the strip. We have stayed in the Monte Carlo and mirage before both really nice didn't have any faults, this time we are staying in flamingo as we are getting married there.

NY NY ... I'd definitely recommend the piano bar.
I second this recommendation. Duelling pianos at Times Square Bar is one of the big reasons why I chose MGM Grand as my wedding venue -- so I can go there after in my dress. Love-love-love this venue.
