Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Only on FB

A minister, crowdsourcing ideas:

Does anyone have any examples of vows that might be part of a wedding ceremony for the couple to make to the child of the groom? He's only 7, and doesn't want to say anything himself, but his dad and stepmom-to-be want to make vows to him. Thoughts?

People gave all sorts of "helpful" advice.

I'm bothered by the lack of information OR concern for the boy's mother. Red flags all over the place.

2 weeks late but I'm bored at work so please don't be irritated with me.

I could see the FSM saying something in her vows to her FH along the lines of treating his son like he was her own, but a wedding is between B&G not B, G, and kids.

This isn't appropriate. The boy can be a ring bearer or a groomsman if he's old enough, but he should not be part of a vow exchange, even if his father and stepmother-to-be want it.
