Thanks! She is seriously adorable, and less feisty than the average tortie. I did NOT intend to get a third cat, but someone dumped a pregnant stray at my parents' farm and they took mama cat in. The other three babies found homes but this little darling was left over. How could I say no to that little face? (Baby picture ahead)

I would definitely not say no, and if I had to I would hide the cat if M was against it. Nope. Too cute.

Update: Room Dad shall hereafter been known as Roomba Dad. Because he is like a Roomba: he can follow a clearly defined program/set of instructions. But in terms of actual critical thinking or problem solving, nada.

I'll do a sep mom ost, to not bring this one down.

I totally have no idea what to get my last christmas person....which is my dad. He doesn't really want that question right now, so, he's getting WTF ever I think of between now and the 23rd.

@AtomicBlonde Messing w/ my craft supplies even to 'help', makes me stabby beyond belief.

I am going downstairs to Christmas for an hour or so.
I'm still waiting by the phone because my SIL was induced ages ago, and no baby yet.

Updates...because you care...

1) The tech is here. Things seem to be doing what they're supposed to, but he's got one more thing to check. So we'll probably just be charged $100 for him coming out. Apparently the cold snap freaked the system out?

2) I *just* ordered front-row VIP/meet and greet tickets for one of my BFFs and myself to go to see our favorite podcast live when their tour comes to town in April. I've never ordered VIP tickets for anything before. I'm so stoked. DH was all, "AWWW! I was going to get you the tickets!", but I'm sure it wouldn't have been the VIP front row ones.

3) DH was pissed after work because he was officially told today that the promotion is not happening. Which the writing has been on the wall for a few weeks now, so we're not surprised. But his director then gave some rando speech to him about being a team player/'sipping the kool-aid'/future opportunities. It's a big flashing neon sign that it's time for him to move the hell on. Crossing my crossables tightly that tomorrow's interview goes well for him.

4) TMI...We were about to get in some midday-mrs.conn's-day-off-no-kids bcbc and I got the call that the tech was on his way. He needs to go, ASAP.

Only available from third party sellers at a huge markup, unfortunately. I wonder if that color is discontinued? Although I sort of doubt it; Carhartt isn't exactly a fashion house with a new line each season. My dad has been wearing the same couple of colors from them for as far back as I can remember.

Today (this week in fact) is taking FOREVER. Our last fish officially died, so now I have an empty aquarium and no time to go to Petsmart to fill it. It's super classy.

I'm patting myself on the back a little today. I had a student tell me their final simulation was "the best educational experience I've ever had".

I don't even care if she's trying to suck up I'm just going to believe it's that I'm awesome.

I did not win the extra vacation day. I did not win anything, actually. But the food was really good. (There's a good place, and a not so good place. Today, they ordered from the good place.

)

I told Roomba that if he collects the gift cards Friday, he can assemble his wreath or whatever over the weekend and give it to her Monday. Not winning that vacation day sapped all the sass out of me, I guess.

Also, I am doing an individual card w/gift card, not the group gift. Does that make me terrible? I don't care, I have no faith in his ability to execute. I'm not giving him a gift card so he can lose it or his dog can eat it or whatever.

That is a good point. I know it's not most men. DH and I were discussing how there is a subset of humanity who just wants to be told what to do and how to do it.

Woke up thinking it was Thursday, so not the best start to the day. But I'm here. Work today and church stuff later tonight. Tomorrow is my birthday and my mom is taking me out for a date since DH isn't here to celebrate with me She's the best. Other than that, SSDD here.

Tomorrow is my daughter's BD too! Happy early birthday! We are going to spend the weekend with her.

I don't know why it's just Wednesday! Also, I realized I haven't worked an entire week of 40 hours at this new job yet. Oops.

I'm burnt out, y'all. Between all of the community work, the training, the pageant, and the community work being HARD for various reasons, I need a real live vacation on a beach with no cell service and alcohol. And I'm not going to get it for awhile. So, I keep trucking on. But hey, 2016 is almost over, and I've basically recreated my life 100% from this time last year now. Divorcee, new job, apartment, GF, different car, debt free...my mother just told me if anyone was trying to find me, it'd be impossible. She's probably right. So, I guess there was some good results from the dumpster fire 2016 was for me.

Today is also my last day smoking. I had promised myself when I started again, a year ago today when I also moved out of my marital house, that I wouldn't stay a smoker. So, the year anniversary is when I quit. I shouldn't need the crutch anymore, b/c I think I'm actually feeling good. I wouldn't go into happy, but the depression is lifting and not so all consuming.

Other than that, not too much going on. Which is good, I need the break. I've got a pub night with friends tonight, something tomorrow night that I'm forgetting, and I'm marrying some good friends this weekend.

I tracked down the vest I wanted online. It's $10-ish more expensive than buying it locally, and I have to worry about it missing Christmas until it actually gets delivered, but it's off my to-do list at least.
