  They won't quite match your color scheme, but red clay pots and saucers are dirt cheap (no pun intended). You could always paint them with acrylic paint to match your colors.
  
  If you're handy with tools, teacups and coffee mugs might work. Just drill some holes for drainage.
  
  Do be careful with the herbs you choose. You don't want the scent to compete with the food you're serving.

  If you want upcycled, I would find a bunch of different containers at salvation army and spray paint them the colors of your wedding. Or go on craigslist and find someone local trying to offload containers from their wedding.

  I'm not sure any of us will be able to help you with upcycled planters since your options will vary widely depending on where you live and what you can find (buying galvanized tubs from dollar tree isn't upcycling).  
  
  If you have an IKEA close to you, they have lavender and sage planters from $5.99-.99 depending on the size you choose (I don't think they are available for purchase online).

  Yes, I realize that the tubs from dollar tree are not upcycled. I mentioned it because I liked the shape and material and thought that would be useful information. I like the ikea planters, the green isn't quite right but I like the idea. I had considered clay pots but because they leach minerals from the water they often get a salty looking ring on the outside.

  I went to a wedding that used old tea cups and saucers. It was lovely, didn't impact sight lines and went with their garden tea party theme.

  You could try peat pots (the plantable kind) and tie a ribbon around them. After the wedding, remove the ribbon, plant and very little waste.

  What about the galvanized planters I linked to from IKEA?  You don't HAVE to use the sage ones if they aren't the right shade (I don't know what exact shade of sage you have picked).
