What's up folks?

Cleaning house, working, and whatnot today. Tomorrow 4 soccer games and baking cream puffs.

Sunday 6let's party!!! I'm a little pissed that my siblings haven't even responded if they are coming or not. I don't give a shit either way, but 2 families of 5 make a swing in how much food I need to prep.

First, Congratulations to @MissKittyDanger !! I have been lurking but can't seem to finish a post this week.

I am going out to Oktoberfest with a lady from the barn. Making new friends feels like dating but without the potential of sex. DH has to work all weekend so he isn't coming, I will be solo.

Today I just tidied up the house a little, did a few loads of laundry. @mrsconn23 have you watched Team Foxcatcher yet? It was a little heavy and sad, just the way I like it.

Let's see, tonight we need to run to Costco and then we're dropping DefConn off at my parent's house for a sleepover.

Tomorrow, I have a hair appt. Then the kiddo has the homecoming dance. Pics are going to be at our house, I think.

Sunday, no idea during the day. DH and FIL are going to a concert.

We're getting our plans finalized for our trip in a couple weeks. I can't wait.

tonight, pick up some Halloween library books for my niece. We facetime and she always begs that I read a story. It's so cute because when I can't think of one, she tells me one and it's all over the place and I have no idea what she's talking about (she's 5). then home to make dinner and then H and i have to head out for a wedding gift

Saturday - wedding

Sunday - hopefully we have some appointments to look at houses. H's hours and turns on the board were cut yet again. They do this to him once a year and last time it lasted 9 months. It was horrible, both in the time spent with each other and his paycheck. We're going to buy a second house that can work for both of us, half way to his work and my work so neither of us have to quit! So annoying.

Regular day. Pilates this afternoon then I think I'm going to stop by Menards and look at sinks. Ugh why is it so hard to find a sink that I want.

Dinner out with friends tomorrow night. Tomorrow is more yard work but thankfully it is a lot cooler than last weekend.

Fun weekend planned! Nothing much today. My usual afternoon nap to make up for not enough sleep the rest of the week, lol.

But tomorrow, my H and I are doing our usual p/t job together in the morning, and then we are headed to Biloxi to stay with friends. They have come to visit us so many times, but we've never been to see them (eek), so it is a long overdue visit. Plus, they bought a house about 6 months ago that needed work, and they finally moved into it a month or two ago. I've seen so many "before and after" pics, I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.

As an extra bonus, because our visit "straddles" over two months (Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st), I can take advantage of slot play and free food offers I have at a Biloxi casino called the Beau Rivage for both Sept. and Oct., lol. Sneaky!

We're just staying overnight and coming back Sun. afternoon. But the fun doesn't stop. There is a big music festival going on in a nearby suburb and PAT BENATAR is playing at it!! Squee!!! She is my all-time favorite singer. The B-52s come on after her. But you know they are going to wait until the end of their set to sing "Love Shack". I'm just not sure I will have the stamina, lol.

MIL Story:

She called yesterday while I was trying on jeans at Kohls. I let it go to voicemail. All she wanted was to know what size 6let is wearing. (TEXT ME THAT)

I call her back and she starts asking what style clothes-
Characters? No dri-fit athletic stuff
Minecraft? No dri-fit athletic stuff
OSU? I've never really seen him pull out OSU stuff to wear, dri-fit athletic stuff, the only team I see him wear is Crew
Browns? No he likes the Bengals (she says they won't buy that because they like the Browns)
Cavs? No the only sports team he really wears is Crew
Indians? Nope, only Crew

She says shopping later at Kohl's and will let me know. As I'm going through Kohl's I notice the pj pants 6let wanted, but I wouldn't spend $32 on. They're on sale for $13. I call and leave a message then take a photo and text her. I tell her size and the whole, "He wanted these."

She texts back that she got them, but now needs to find shirts. I respond "He actually doesn't want matching shirts. He has some tees he prefers to wear to bed."

I just got a text that she's so happy she found matching shirts!!! I can't help but laugh and shake my head.

6 - That is annoying about the RSVP and the biggest reason I hate to throw parties! And LOL to MIL!

S+S - You have to get the casinos when you can, because usually its the other way around!

TGIF! I am going to pick up a craigslist item after work. Its a new to us swing for DD. The one my friend gave me died and this was a similar, yet newer model for sale close by! And its only $25! DD loves this swing because she sits upright in it. She doesn't like the one MIL gave us because its only for laying down.

After that, I plan to make the cupcakes for my friend's surprise party on Sunday. I'm making vanilla cupcakes for the kids and chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling for the adults! I will ice and decorate everything tomorrow. H is also working tomorrow, so it will be just me and DD. Hopefully she will cooperate with all I need to do!

Sunday is the party. No idea how long we will stay, the Eagles play at 4, but the party starts at noon. She is going to a massage and then coming home to the surprise party. Friend's H said we can stay through the Eagles game. Not sure we will make that will DD! We will see!

Meeting some friends at the breastfeeding support group at the local hospital and then we’re going out for a ladies lunch (plus babies) after!

Tomorrow my cousin, who is up from Long Island visiting her son at a local college for Parents Weekend, is coming for dinner to meet the baby. My parents wanted to catch up with her (she’s my mom’s first cousin) and her son also wanted to meet the baby so we’re having a little dinner party with everyone. Should be fun!

Sunday we were going to go out to North central Mass to go apple picking, but the Pats game at 1 kind of puts a wrench in that plan. The orchard is an hour plus drive and doesn’t open until 11. Hopefully next weekend we will have nice weather and we can go then.

We just had a potluck at work and I feel like Veruca Salt when she turns into a blueberry. And also in a food coma. I really need some caffeine, but can't because fetus (and I already had my allotment for today).

OH no!! I remember those days. I always saved my quota for afternoon coffee because I would get the worst post-lunch crash when I was pregnant. Toward the end, I totally went over at least twice a week because it was even worse. Also in the 3rd tri, I'd get a hot flash at the same time every day. My co-worker could set her watch to it.

Boo to siblings not responding. Yay for party!

Work today and through Sunday. SO is having his game night tonight and the guys might end up staying over. I'm not thrilled, but I was kind of being a butt about it so I told him it was okay in the end. I might have to get some earplugs though. These guys, I swear. They annoy me because D&D is basically all they do. They still live at home, they don't have significant others, they just go to work, come home, and play video games and D&D. And then they get upset when SO says he can't play (it's always at our place) for a few weeks because, well, adulting. He doesn't even really like the game! SO needs a break from the house though. We had a "worst case scenario" thing with it last week, and there's been all these earthquakes lately. We really need to step on getting earthquake insurance because our house is probably going to turn into a pile of rubble whenever the Big One finally hits.

Pouring rain today and our building got evacuated as I was preparing for class. We're starting Freedom of Speech cases so I showed my students George Carlin's '7 words you can't say on TV' and they thought it was hilarious.

Not much tonight, maybe stopping by my sister's but I'm exhausted so who knows. I wanted to leave early but it's raining so I might just keep working. Party at a friend's house tomorrow night; it will be tons of food, lawn games, fire, and good people. Really looking forward to it. Sunday is football all day.

So we have a cat at our house who is old, very old. If I had to guess she is probably like 17-19. She was DH's high school's gf's cat for reference. Anyway, last night she woke us up pacing and howling all night long. She also looks like she has lost a lot of weight around her flank, you can see her hipbones. DH thinks that there is something wrong with her. When he left for work this morning, with plans to take her to the vet this afternoon, she walked out the frontdoor with him. She hasn't really even come down the stairs since we moved back into our house 4 months ago (she doesn't like the dog). She just walked right out the front door and disappeared. I went home at lunch to look for her and wasn't able to locate her. DH said maybe she went off to die. Is that even a thing??

It's a thing. My aunt actually had a stray come in through her cat door and sit on her heat vent for half an hour before it was dead. She thinks it just wanted a warm place to die.

It sounds like she followed him out though, so if she was going to die she wanted to be with him. /crying I really hope you find her. After almost two decades with your DH, it would be super sad for her to die alone. (oh my god, this pregnancy has me an emotional dumpster fire - literally crying writing this)

@short+sassy, my parents go to Boloxi too, all the time! My mom is very talkative so if you sat next to her on a machine between New Orleans and Boloxi, I'm sure she would have talked to you. If my aunt was with her, you most def talked to my aunt! lol.

@kaos16, so sorry about the cat. Hopefully that's not the case, and she'll come home

Sadly, totally a thing. One of our cays did this when we were little. He just up and left one day and didn't come back.

Also, @southernbelle0915 I'm teary and not pregnant, so you're not alone, this is super sad.

The last week-ish with Betsey (yellow lab about 11ish), who was in kidney failure, she just kept wanting to go outside and would lay as far away from the door as possible. Kaos - I hope the kitty comes back and all is well.

TGIF y’all. This has been the longest week, for real.

This weekend is a joint baby shower/wedding shower for 2 of my family members, which OMG is expensive. But that side of the family isn’t exactly known for their consideration/etiquette, so this fits right in. The baby shower is for the cousin who got married a couple of months after me and had a cash bar. Soooo yeah.

After that, I’ll be watching some college football and hanging out with my mom and DH.

Oh! I started a food blog, which was one of my New Years resolutions/goals/whatever you want to call it. I’m pretty proud of it, though I haven’t had the chance to update it in the last couple of weeks. I’m hoping to make some food worthy of posting about this weekend

Other than that, not much here!

@kaos16 definitely a thing. Animals like to die in private. The night my cat died I knew we were going to put her down the next morning. I fell asleep with her on the floor and when I woke up she had crawled to the other side of the room and passed away. Normally she always wanted to be with me. I couldn't even go on vacations the last few years because she would stop eating and drinking. She was 24. I'm so sorry. I hope kitty is okay. It sucks when our pets get old/sick.

I am not going to make it this last hour and a half. I need a good solid vacation that isn't actually "take time off work to go do this thing". Tonight, I feel like cooking an excellent dinner, then we're drinking wine and watching Grey's Anatomy and HTGAWM premieres. Tomorrow, we're stopping by a BBQ, a wedding reception, and then K has a show. *sigh* So much fun, so little time to sleep.

Oh and I found out my xH remarried in August. I had this super weird feeling and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I kept poking and prodding and finally it just snapped into my head, "I'm relieved." And I am. I had kept myself from leaving for years b/c I didn't think he could take care of himself, then almost right after the divorce, he started seeing this woman that I thought was just such a bad decision, there's been multiple instances of horrible things being said about me from them...and now they're married. They're on their own path. Anything that happens, is theirs now, they can't blame anything on me. And I am so relieved. It finally feels like that relationship and time period is truly over and past and he's really not my job to worry about anymore. It might've been a totally self-imposed burden, but it lifted from my shoulders.

I'm chillin' on the couch while DH is out for a whiskey and steak night. I reheated one of my mom's chocolate chip cookies and burned it in the microwave. What a waste of a perfectly good cookie!

@southernbelle0915 she did!!!!! My son and I were away for the weekend at my niece's birthday party. The cat all of a sudden walked up to be husband in the driveway Saturday night. She looked a little worse for wear, but came right in and went to sleep in the bed. Last night she was howling again so he let her out of the house and she was in the backyard this morning. Maybe it's a midlife crisis, and she is suddenly a late night party animal, out on the town!
