  The registry is a guide for what to buy. If you think your sister would find the gift meaningful, go ahead and get it for her. But also keep in mind that she might have an idea of what she would like to wear for the wedding, and it might not be the jewelry you give her.

  Thanks levioosa ☺ she actually picked this one out when we were shopping the other week. I had just been told it was inappropriate to give personal gifts at a shower. I think I will go ahead and give this to her

   I had a pair of earrings made for my daughter from jewelry left to me from my mother. I gave them to her at her bridal shower. The guests seemed genuinely touched by the sentiment behind them.  I never once considered it inappropriate.
