DH and I had a date day yesterday- cocktails at lunch then a bunch of shopping. We knocked out some Christmas and got a good list of ideas going. I ordered his present too.

Last night we stayed up too late watching the Crew WIN. The weather is so bad they cancelled 6let's tournament this week. The second one this year! Now we only have one birthday party and I don't have a clue what to do with the rest of the weekend. Maybe if it's nice we'll use all that Halloween candy to make smores. Reese's cup smores are the BEST, but KitKat gets a good runner up.

Work has been a nightmare and I’m just trying to make it to next Friday! After that we’re honeymooning for 9 days!

Nothing crazy this weekend - we are hitting up a bacon fest on Sunday!!

Good morning.

As soon as DH got home last night, I went over to my parent's house. My sisters went over as well. We did dinner and helped mom pack. Afterward, the 4 of us sat in my mom's room and talked for about an hour. It was truly lovely.

Mom seems at peace. She's left her return open ended so she can stay with my grandpa after. She said that maybe all of her stuff was a blessing in disguise as she would not be able to have the same flexibility to stay if she was working.

My mom said it happened in church, as they were there for all saints day. My grandparent's priest stayed with them all day.

She is currently on her way to TX. She got wheelchair service. I talked to her BFF on my way over to my parents last night and she totally understands how worried we are. Waiting to hear that mom has landed safely and then again, that my grandma has gone in peace. My grandpa is waiting for my mom and uncle to get there so they can say goodbye.

Been stalking hotels and flights to feel like I'm doing something. (I mean, work? What work?

)

We're still going out tomorrow for our anniversary. We've also worked out some of the holidays stuff that I was stressing about, and I talked to SIL, who said that they came to the realization that they may need to be a little more 'flexible' with their holiday plans. So yay for all that.

@mrsconn23 I'm so sorry about this burden. I'm glad your mother seems to be doing alright.

Well, i went ahead and called in to my old therapist's office today to set up the process of seeing him again. I resigned from all of my obligations because I knew I was beyond my capabilities of dealing with stress. I'm also right in the thick of when my marriage started blowing up three years ago now. I apparently have a lot of unresolved anger and grief about it b/c it's hitting me hard right now. So, it's time to start talking to someone who isn't my support network and working through this.

Other than that, SSDD. I've stepped away from some of the things I had planned this weekend, b/c I need the rest. I am going to go see Bohemian Rhapsody though, no matter what.

@6fsn, it never even occurred to me, to use anything but Hershey's chocolate bars for s'mores. You may have just changed my world, lol. It's finally cool enough outside to use our fire pit. And now you have me psyched to try Reese's Peanut Butter cup s'mores this weekend!

@NBSquared2017, good to see you back! Sorry work has been rough. I hope you had a Happy and fun Halloween! I remember you talking about it is one of your favorite holidays. Bacon fest?!? Mmmm, that sounds awesome, lol. And enjoy the upcoming honeymoon!

@mrsconn23, I'm glad to hear everyone had a nice night last night and your mom's travel plans are going smoothly. I hope it continues to stay that way. More kudos on your SIL for being at least a little more understanding about the upcoming holidays.

I'm working until noonish and then doing the last handful of mystery shops on that special project. Only four and it's done. I also need to stop at the bank, while I'm running around, because it is payday!

For the rest of the weekend, it is serious lounging around, lol. Though I do have a more typical restaurant mystery shop (totally unrelated to the project) on Sun. morning. It is a favorite brunch place for my H and I, so we're looking forward to it.

@short+sassy- we go through all of the chocolate TorT candy and try it out. Reese's are my favorites, but the kids really like the crunch or the cookies and cream Hershey's.

@mrsconn23, I'm glad your mom seems to finding some peace in all the craziness - wishing her safe travels.

@varunatt - glad you're taking care of yourself, it's so important. Enjoy the movie, I can't wait to see that one!

Work is finally slowing down from the quarterly craziness. I have conference calls most of the day again today and am hoping to sneak out early and make it to a 4:30 workout class.

Maine last weekend was AWESOME. The weather was super shitty, but the food was amazing, the coast was beautiful, the apt we stayed in was on the top floor of a gorgeous old Victorian home. And most importantly, it was so much fun to re-connect with my friend who I haven't really spoken much with in the last few years. I forgot how much I love her and miss that we aren't really in each others lives regularly anymore - so we discussed making this weekend trip an annual thing.

Last weekend was great, but we've been super busy on weekends so I'm very much looking forward to having a weekend with absolutely nothing on the calendar!

Halloween was good. We had family over and we actually got a decent amount of TOTers. Some were teenagers and way too old to be ToTing but whatever. I spent all of yesterday nursing a horrific hangover. Not too much going on this weekend. We invited FSIL and her FI over to hang out, and I plan on relaxing for the most part.

@mrsconn23 I'm so so sorry to hear about your grandma. Thinking of you and your family.

My dad is still in the hospital, but my mom was able to use her connections to get him into a really good rehab facility that is also near their house. Because of the shingles he needs a private room, but luckily they were able to accommodate. I took yesterday as a personal day and hung out with him for a while. His nurses and doctor and PT are all really thorough and really caring, which is good for peace of mind. He's pretty out of it and super uncomfortable, but he is able to get rest which is good. This week has kicked my ass. I'm exhausted and drained and I am wondering why I am here at work and not at home.

My mom made it to TX safely, but my grandma did pass away last night.

She was such an amazing woman and so full of life all her days. I am going to miss her so much and am more proud than ever to be part of her legacy.

Varuna - Good for you, for checking back in with your therapist and start back to working on yourself. Self-care is very important!

This week was crazy at work. I hope this isn't my new normal. We got a lot done at the house too! We painted the living room wall and then reinstalled the TV. And it worked! We don't have any bright spots on the TV and I hope we never have to take it apart again, because its a PITA.

DD dressed up as an Octopus. I took a half day and picked her up from daycare when she woke up from her nap. We went to H's office first, then mine. She had a ball! I also set up the front door, so she could easily see the kids in their costumes when they came for candy. She loved it! I tried to upload pics of DD, but TK isn't working - shocking!

This weekend, I'm having brunch with friends tomorrow. Then Sunday, H wants to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We will do church on Saturday, but other than that, I'm not sure what is up. I think H wants me to make him ribs for dinner one night too.
