Opinions on a sash...Please help!

I am wondering what to do with the sash on my dress.  I'm thinking I don't like the way the sash trails all the way down the back of the dress past the chapel train.  The chapel train has beading all around the edge and so does the sash, so the sash takes away from the train possibly?  I'm not sure if I like the idea of tying it in a bow in the back either (not a bow person).

I think I might cut off the sash completely...and just keep it around the waist of the dress (because I'm scared it might be too plain without it).  Do you guys agree or do you like the long sash?  Also, would you keep the sash at the waist this width, half that size, or gone completely (if you take off the length of it and leave the waist)?  Please help, I have no idea what to do!

THE DRESS (but my sash is white, not pink):

I did try to visualize it by folding the sash over:

    UPDATE (5/23/11):
It fits now (had to go from a 12 to a 6) and I chose the half sash:

Oh... I voted without seeing the pictures!!!  I voted to keep it full length(#1), but I really like the last picture.  I think it's really flattering when the sash is smaller at the waist.  As for the bow in the back, I'm biased, but I like that a lot.  My dress has a bow, that ends like a feet before the dress and it is really pretty too.

This might help:  Here is the back of the dress with the long sash put off to the right:

Is the bow the end of a sash on your dress?  I would love to see a picture.  I'm also scared that a long sash might date my dress (it's older and discontinued).

I like the last photo with the little sash. It highlights your waist.

Your dress is beautiful!  I think your bow adds a very nice and small delicate touch to the back of the gown...this bow on my dress is HUGE, lol.  I did think about folding it over instead of tying it in a bow, but that would make it a good amount past my train.

If you really want a sash, maybe you could find a different one completely.  I'm not familiar with where you can buy one though.  : (  Maybe, Etsy...?

I think I would trust my seamstress on this one.  She could maybe make you another sash using the one you already have.  The details on the bottom of your skirt are really pretty and they deserves to be shown.  A shorter and slimmer sash might be your answer.  Then again, I'm so biased!!!

Eek, that's the biggest butt bow I've seen since 1987. I don't mind the length of the sash but the bow is awful. And I think the thinner sash is more flattering on you.

The bow would probably look better with a thinner sash, or perhaps the sash could be pinned as a simple knot. I think it would also look really nice with the sash cut off and pinned only around the waist like a belt.

I like the half sash, and agree that it would look good like a belt instead of the bow.  Lovely dress!

Too funny!  I was thinking something similar about that bow -- it definitely has a retro feel (size) to it.  I love the sash at half-width though.

I'm not a huge fan of sashes either (especially in the same color as the dress, it looks a bit pointless...but I don't want anything non-white on my dress anyway)...but I fell in love with this dress and have NO idea what to do with the sash...very hard place to be in!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />
