QOTD 11/29/10

They say "If you pay, you get a say" but how much of a say should parents that contribute to the wedding really get?

I listen to all of my moms suggestions and requests, even though we're paying for the wedding totally on our own. If she was paying, then I wouldn't veto anyone she adds to the guest list (within reason of course) and I wouldn't mind letting her decide some of the smaller details. But the big things ultimately would be up to me.

IMO, even if the parents are paying, I think the bride and groom should get the ultimate say. Afterall, it isn't the parents wedding! I wouldn't take a dime if it was conditional to the fact that my parents or FI's parents got to make the decisions. But, again, thats just me.

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

I also think the bride and groom should get the ultimate say.  It's their wedding!  Depending on the personalities of the people paying the bill, they may take their money back, but that's so horrible IMO.
