Italian Inspired Venues

I'm looking for an Italian inspired venue. Attached is a picture of my inspiration. Romanesque/Baroque style church and not too sure about reception site but not anything too modern looking. I'm ok with all in one venues. The following are place I've looked at or going to look at. Please let me know if I'm missing any.

Addison Event Center - ok inside only for reception. Did not like exit but the owners are great!
Affordable Dreams at Bella - pretty but read several bad reviews and got bad impression from open house
La Cima in Las Colinas - not seen yet
Old Red Courthouse - not seen yet
The Piazza - not seen yet
Aldredge House - not seen yet
Bella Donna Chapel - Ideal but a bit far from Dallas.
Mediterranean Villa - more on the Mediterranean side. Not really the look I'm going for.

Addison Event Center was very pretty inside but I am not sure it has the grand, in your face oppulence for what you are looking for.  Thatbeing said, the food was to die for.

Thanks. Its not so grand but I did like the chandeliers, faux columns, and chairs. With some nice linen, chargers, and centerpieces it would look really nice. I would probably only host a reception there. Heard great things about the food too :)

The first one that came to my mind was Piazza which is already on your list.  Love it.  I also thought of Adriatica which is also on your list.

I love Old Red, Aldredge and La Cima but not sure they will have the look you are going for.

I personally am not a fan of all-in-one places like AD and MV that do nothing but weddings.  I don't think they are anything special, are overpriced, and I've heard lots of horror stories.  But that of course is JMO.

You have a few on there that could definitely be possibilities.

Great suggestions Marie. We looked into the Aristide but decided because of its location we would put in on hold for now. The Adolphus might be out of our price range but I do think its a perfect reception site for what I'm looking for. ha I think i may have expensive taste and might need to change/tweak my inspiration.

Stephie, the Adriatic IS GORGEOUS and is exactly what I am looking for in a church. I'm wondering what reception sites other brides have used besides the country club.

Looks like the closest other place is the McKinney Cotton Mill.

I bet you will love Piazza when you see it.  I like Ashton Gardens too.

I'm using Bella Donna Chapel... It fits what I wanted... It's a bit far from dallas, but it's not too far away... If you like it you shoud use it! People who truly want to be at your wedding will drive :)

ETA: The Grand Hotel in McKinney is also another reception location you can use

You mentioned the Bella being far from Dallas. Where is that, and what area do you want to stay in?

</div><div>LoverBean27, you are right. I need to stop worrying about what city I have it in. I do prefer Dallas but I doubt I'm going to find a church/chapel with that look. Grand Hotel seems very nice as well. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

Those are great-they have vendors there too so if you need any def. check them out!

The only downside, it is in Colleyville, which depending with traffic, could take you a while to get from Dallas.

BTW the chapel there at Bella is really pretty! I love the architecture!

I think the Piazza is going to be the closest match to what you want, while Ashton Gardens is very pretty, I don't think it's going to have the look you want.

Isn't there a big winery around here that has that Tuscan feel?  I cannot for the life of me think of the name of it though... it was my dream venue but it was way out of our price range!!

Crash, the OP said above she ruled it out for now because of the location.  But wow, it really does seem to fit the bill doesn't it?  It looks gorgeous.  I had never heard of it before.

There are some great locations for a reception after your ceremony at the Bella Donna Chapel. I work for the chapel and suggest The Terrace (located in Adriatica as well), The Grand Hotel (located on the square), The Cotton Mill and Gather (located on the square). All of these places are very unique and gorgeous!

I would love to show you the chapel sometime! Please call at 972-836-7718!

I second on the Terrace- it is in the same community as bella donna (just opened): http://terraceadriatica.com/

Also, I am not sure if it is still open, but when I was looking when I was first engaged two years ago, the Venetian Terrace (in Las Colinas) http://www.venetianterrace.com/ Doesn't charge for room rental and they even have a courtyard where you can get married. It is super cute (you can even have your "getaway" on a gondala :)

    Hope this helps!

I loved Bella Donna but did not like the scenery around the church. The new development feel and huge garage blocking the church just got to also. Also, it seemed like I would have a lot to do as far as decorations for the main room of the Terrace. The lobby and balcony were lovely though.

I wish I knew about the Venetian Terrace before :( I already booked with Level Two in Dallas. I liked that the building is actually really old and it reminded me of a wine cellar inside. I could do a lot with the place but I don't think would require too much decor.
