Welcome bags for OOT guests

I'd like to make "welcome bags" for all of our OOT guests (we live in AZ and are getting married in WI).  I'll be filling the bags w/some local WI goodies, maps, bottles of water, etc.  I'd like to buy some tote bags, and was wondering what (if any) wording should I put on them.  No one really wants a bag w/my name and my fiance's name on it, but I feel like it looks too bare if it was just plain.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I'd say keep it plain, or use something other than a bag. We went to an out of town wedding in Wisconsin a couple of years ago and the bride put all the things you mentioned above in a large plastic bowl, similar to a mixing bowl. I use that bowl all the time......... I have dozens of types of bags I never use.

    Just a thought.

    Good luck.

Bowl or basket.  You can visit a goodwill and find containers.  They don't all have to match

I'm going to go against the other suggestions because of what happened to us.  Our nephew had his wedding in his bride's homestate of Texas.  It was OOT for everyone, EVERYONE, in our family, and we all flew into Texas.

They had gift baskets for us all.  Large baskets that we all had to leave behind because they wouldn't fit into our luggage to fly back home.

If people are flying in, don't use big bowls or baskets.  It's likely they'll get left behind, and then you've spent all this money for something that's tossed by the housekeeping staff.

I'd just get a pretty gift bag and call it good.  I'd toss the tote bag when I got home too.  I don't need another tote bag, and I don't consider it a "memento" from a wedding.  I think it's a waste of $$.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Instead of a tote bag I would go with a paper gift bag. That way if people toss them or don't end up using them it's not a huge waste of money. And also if you do gift bags you can print whatever you would like on them because they're mostly going to be a once use item anyways.

What if you get those fabric tote bags they give you at the supermarket now to be more Green. They always sell them for like $1 at the super market so i cant imagine they would be that expensive to order and when they go home they can just fold it up, put it in their suitcase and use it when they go food shopping! Not sure if those are big where you live but in NY everyone uses them

Also, a cute way to personalize them, Do you have a monogram? What if you put that on there? Because then its pretty and pertains to your wedding, but doesn't have peoples names stamped on them.

you know i think i just might do that! =)

If you are going to do anything I would do something like "WI survival kit" or something like that, and make sure you add ribbons or tape a card or something to it so they realize that it actually IS a welcome gift and not just a sloppy clean up job by they hotel staff (I just keep picturing them throwing it out or trying to turn it in thinking it was left behind!)

You can just get them from your local grocery store. No need to monogram/personalize it.  I would be embarrassed to have something like this in the store, especially if I were in line behind the super chatty lady who wanted to know what it was all about.
