My engagement ring is a family heirloom from FI's side of the family. It belonged to his last late grandmother, the only grandparent of his I ever got to meet.

FI left the guard that was soldered on when he gave it to me. We've since had it taken off so that I can get a wedding ring.

  • I had told FI what I wanted and we even went to try on some rings together about a year before we got engaged. He made some changes but I love it even more than what I had chosen!

  • FI asked me what I wanted and I told him this one and sat in suspense for a few months waiting to get it.

  • The diamonds are from FI's late grandmothers engagement ring.  So FMIL and I went to custom make it, had no idea it would be that big lol.  We added the Emerald because that is FIs birthstone :)

  • The large, dark blue ring is a seaglass ring custom made for me on Vieques Island in Puerto Rico where FI proposed.  Having a ring before we left the island so I could show it off was one of my caveats for keeping quiet for the rest of the weekend and not telling anyone until we got home from PR, LOL.  I got to pick out the piece of glass and tell the lady who made it exactly how I wanted it to look.  It was so much fun and such a perfect reminder of FI's proposal Smile

I really really wanted a traditional engagement ring too though so after talking to FI he let me pick out something with diamonds.  FI hates diamonds (he thinks they're all blood diamonds) and I knew I didn't want a plain diamond ring, I wanted something with some color to it so after some searching I discovered the ring I chose for my traditional engagement ring in the anniversary ring section at Zales.  It was the perfect size and color and I fell in love immediately, showed it to FI, and he bought it for me when he realized how much I loved it and that I wasn't going to just stop wearing my seaglass ring once I had the shiny thing to wear.

The poor seaglass ring gets beaten up a lot because it's so large but I just can't imagine not wearing it.  The setting has already had to be re-done once because the copper wire on part of it broke.  Luckily FI works with metals all the time, and especially likes to work with copper, so he can fix it whenever it gets broken.

This is my ring the night he proposed. He knew I liked three stones from my promise ring, and he picked it out all by himself. His mom went with him and approved of his choice. I yelled at him about spending so much when he told me the price. haha But I love it. It's perfect, and I'm so happy to wear it every day for the rest of my life.

  • My FI picked out the center stone and then picked out the band. I had picked out something similar when we went to the store together.

My fiance proposed without a ring, because he knew I wanted to be involved in choosing my ring. I ended up with a morganite gem as the center stone (it's very pale pink), and a halo setting with surprise diamonds underneath the mount. I love it!!

  • My engagement ring is a one carat princess cut diamond center stone with a halo and pave diamond band. It is a vintage inspired design from Scott Kay and features gorgeous filigree on both sides of the band. There's also a matching wedding band that features the same pave diamond and filigree designs.

We picked them out together and we both love them so much. They are the perfect rings for me! I can't wait to wear them together once we're married!

  • Here's my ring!  My FI has it customed designed just for me by a local jeweller.  It's a white gold band with pave gemstones: alternating diamonds and amethysts.  The centre stone is a princess cut diamond.  It's exactly what I always dreamed of and was so impressed with his pick!

I absolutely love my ring! FI had the ring for over a year before he proposed. He picked it out all on his own. He has great taste!

  • My ring is a 1.18 round center in an 18k white gold setting with a cushion halo and tiny diamonds down the sides.  It is elegant and vintage feeling, I just love it!

  • FI had mine custom made, and he did an amazing, perfect job. I gave him a couple shapes I wanted, that I wanted a solitare, and a diamond band. He added a beautiful side decal as well. I couldn't have picked it better myself. :)

  • I guess I don't have a great picture of it, My fiance went with his mother and grandmother to purchase my ring in November and scheduled a trip to the Poconos that February so he could propose somewhere beautiful. His whole family knew for MONTHS and no one let on at all :) I think it's perfect it has two little arches that come up next to the stone and he said he loves the "archetecture" of it.

It's a 3/4 carat center diamond and 3/4 carats of diamonds on the band. There are diamonds on the top of the band and both sides. :) It's always shining when I move my hand... gotta love that! He definately knows my taste.

my ring is  three stone princess cut with smaller diamonds along the band! I LOVE it, its exactly what i would have wanted with a traditional look, he took my mom with him which was important to me because her and i are very close and she knows exactly what I liked. She let him pick it out thou :)

  • The center stone is the stone from his grandma's engagement ring and the band is from a "vintage collection" (which I LOVE vintage!) Totals almost 2 karats :-)

My Fiancee hates diamonds as well.  He use to dabble and gemology and the things he told me about diamonds I couldn't believe.  Plus its the most common stone the mark up is because of dabeers.

Here is my bling.  I just love it.  This is where my ring came from.   We couldn't have been more pleased.
