Where in RI for engagement photos

Looking for a nice place to take pictures around here, preferably not too terribly far from the Providence area.  We are probably going to take them around June.  Open to any suggestions!

If you like an urban backdrop than downtown Providence is a great location. There is also the East Side too near Brown and RISD. Federal Hill also offers some nice places- like DePasquala square.

We took our pro pics in the area.

I agree I think Providence has some great areas. You cna take some down in waterplace park. My friends did that (she is a bridesmaid and he's a groomsman in our wedding!), here are their photos: http://www.weddedeverafter.blogspot.com/2011/03/extra-extra-check-it-out.html

Also if you wanted a water back drop you can take some at India Point Park or on the deck at hot club might be fun (call and ask first, obvi)

Also, think outside the box too I think a really fun plce would be at the zoo, (on the swan boats) ,at public park, garden, or even at a carnival or something if it came to town.

Thanks for the ideas, I think I was looking for a park or someplace that had a lot of beautiful nature around.  It doesn't have to be in Providence...

Maybe this is too far, but URI has a really beautiful garden there.  I remember an ex boyfriend (lol) took me there during college for a pinic and it was like  a little secret hidden treasure. It's across from the Fine Arts building, near the old Beta house, that is since knocked down (if you were at uri when i was, this will ring true)

IF you aren't looking fora  "flower" scape but more of trees, fields, etc. then I would scout a place on the bike path. There are lots of steams, wooden fences, places of wildflowers, and even grassy spots with beautiful weeping willows all along the

Slater Park in Pawtucket is really nice because it has fountains in the lake, a gazebo, walking trails, woods and nice flower areas.  It's nice and close and it has a carousel.

Ditto Slater Park. If you don't mind traveling far, Colt State Park in Bristol is very pretty,or Beavertail in Jamestown. We did ours there and they came out really great.

Ask your photographer for suggestions. Give them some ideas of what you are up for but it may give them an outlet for a great idea they've been itching to try!

I am really sur;rised no one has mentioned Roger Williams Park! It is in Providence, full of gorgeous places for photos. The rose garden will probably be blooming there in June too. We had our wedding at the Casino there and our pics from outside are beautiful!

I agree with Roger Williams Park! We had our engagement pictures taken there. There were so many different places to take pictures - all kinds of benches, bridges, and beautiful flowers. You could even get a few pictures on the carousel :)

We did our photo shoots along Cliff Walk in Newport and Beavertail.  Then on a second day, we went to Waterplace Park, and then walked up to Benefit Street and got some cool backgounds.  There are some beautiful areas with ivy over brick walls that look so great.

If you like flowers, can you go to Blithewold Mansion for pictures?  I'm not sure what they allow, but it is so pretty over there.
