Trying not to break the bank. Help!

I'm getting married November 23rd 2013. I'm from the southside of Atlanta (Coweta County). It's 30 minutes south of Atlanta. I'm trying to get the best bang for my dollar in venue and catering. Everything I've found for venue and catering is about 10,000. Can I get any help on a cheaper venue or caterer in the Coweta/ Peachtree City area? Any information would be great. I just can't wrap my head around the price and I feel like someone knows a way to help Smile

  • How large is the wedding/reception?

  • It's looking like about 120-130 guests. I keep trying to cut down, but it's almost all family haha

  • I know of a couple places in that area or not to far. How far are you willing to drive?
  • I would really like to not drive more than 30 minutes. We have been trying to get married in the church, but it's looking to be very difficult.
  • Have you looked at Stanley House in Marietta? My sister is looking at that for her wedding. It includes everything but the DJ and for 130 it would be around $6500 for the "sweet tea" package

  • I am also from Coweta County...and let me TELL YOU! We have NO venues!!!!! I am actually going to Carrollton to have my reception. The WPA Center is really nice (and only $300 for 8 hours if you live in Carrollton or attend UWG).

They have a few other nice places you can use too. And if you are getting married when it is warm enough, you can have the ceremony at Alice Park for free.

Also, they are building that events center next to the Center for Performing Arts on Lower Fayetteville Rd. It's supposed to be ready by July, but I don't see how. It would be ready before your wedding though. Look into it.

I couldn't agree more. I mean there's Vinewood, but most of the other places don't allow alochol. If I went there that would mean that most of my family would leave shortly after dinner lol. THey love to drink and have a good time.

Same here, and my FI is SET on open bar. Plus, my friends would disown me!!!! Let me know if you find anything reasonable!
  • Ok so here are a couple that I know of. I'm a caterer so I have worked with these venues personally and know they do a good job.
You have Foxhall which is a about 15 mins form Vinewood which you are familur with.
Then there is also Sunset Ranch with is rather affordable only $650 for the weekend.
The Cultural Arts Center is Douglasville is pretty and is also affordable $300-$800 or $100 for the whole weekend.
I havent' been to the WPA center yet, but I have 2 brides there this year so I should be doing a venue check with the coming up.
Gabe's Downtown will design a menu to fit your budget and they offer discounts for hosting your rehersal dinner and wedding. Hope this helps feel free to message me if you need more info.
