Marriage License HELP

Has anyone here gone to Bexar County to get their marriage license? Did you marriage license have your current name or what you want your new name to be? Is there not a place for you to sign the marriage license?

I just read this on May 2011 and responded there.  For anyone else that needs to know:

A marriage license will ALWAYS have your maiden name on it.  That is your legal name at the time you apply.  You must take your drivers license and they will put your name EXACTLY as it appears on the DL.

You will change your name after the license is filed (up to 30 days after the wedding date by you or your officiant - they provide a non-stamped envelope.  REMEMBER TO STAMP IT.)  You should go to SSN first then to the DMV (or whatever they call it) to change your name.

NO.  There is no place to sign the marriage license.  Since you have to go in person to get it and prove who you are they assume that you agree.  The only signature required is the officiant.  There are two lines provided for witnesses but they are not required.
