I think the concept is great if executed well. A way to keep it from seeming flat could be using different textures, like a linen tablecloth with a satin runner, overlay or napkins maybe. I have also seen white with a lot of plain glass vessels that is beautiful too and does not add or take away from the white.
Super cute idea. People will knock the cutesy name thing but if you like it go with it.
All I can come up with is "CLoudy with a chance of baked ziti" and "Punch Drunk Love" and maybe something about Peeta (from the hunger games) for the bread
Oh and I highly recommend adding some "The Wedding Singer" songs if possible.

My sister did navy and champagne and it was very nice, her hubby is military as well.
