Thanks, y'all. Again, I'm just so happy with how everything went (except for giving everyone the flu, which I really tried not to do).
Thanks! I can't wait for the pro photos. They're set to come in the next two weeks.
I also have to show off this amazing, thoughtful, beautiful gift we received. One of H's uncles is an artist. When we opened this, I almost cried. I'm a mermaid (I swim with a tail), so the inclusion was just perfect. H's uncle started working on this when we got engaged. We were engaged for twenty months. He worked on it until the month we got married. It's 35inx36in.
So excited to see fellow December wedding people commenting! I got married 12/27 as well. It worked for my VIPs-- all of which made it. For lurkers, that's the most important consideration when it comes to a wedding date.
We definitely got gifts, way more than I would have thought, considering both our families are typically broke, and we knew around the holidays that people have more important things to consider than a wedding gift.
So, lurkers, just remember that if people want to give gifts, the date isn't going to matter. Those who give, will give anyway. Those who don't, won't anyway. The best thing to do is let that be the business of the guests.
My mom wore champagne. She looked beautiful, and no one thought it was too similar to my wedding gown (not that it would have mattered). Honestly, what made the day for me was that everyone I loved felt amazing in what they were in. It makes a big difference when people feel good.
There's a great kink community there... that's all I really know about Raleigh.
