     Actually, it became a compromise.. My fiance didn't want the wedding in Colorado and I couldn't imagine my wedding on a beach somewhere. We are also planning to take Alaskan cruise as our honeymoon from Seward when our destination wedding is over.

     If I have to leave the state and drive a couple of hours, that would be a destination wedding to me...I don't know that I would necessarily call it that though since I think "beach" when I hear destination weding...but it would def. be an out of state wedding that requires significant travel time and hotel accomodations.

     PLEASE do as the other posters advised. Gifts should never be toted to a wedding, local or destination. It just creates problems for the family of the bride, they have to schlep everything home. The exception would be a wedding held at the home of the bride and groom.
