Everyone is wrong here. I think LW should just I big the niece because they’re cousins and one gets to be a FG and the other doesn’t even get to attend. Does she have to? No, but seems like a good thing to do. 

I kind of see both sides. It does seem arbitrary to invite one niece but not the other. It's why we encourage inviting in circles. That being said, sister is being a lot here. I totally get the sense that sister is oversharing with her literal six year old about how unfair it is and that's causing undue stress for the child.  Or six year old is totally fine and sister is just projecting. But is this the hill to die on? I don't know.

A lot to unpack here...but have you ever actually seen a male ballerina? They can seriously throw down on the muscle front in ways I've never seen in a baseball player.

Finally made an appointment to get my shoulder looked at by my doctor.  I think that it's healed as far as it's going to w/out intervention.  We'll see what she says.  It's making sleep uncomfortable and I always have a baseline of pain, that gets worse as my work day goes on.  Yesterday I was a grump b/c of it, so it's time to figure out what's going on.  Hopefully it's simple, like "go get some massages" and not "PT, 2-3x/week".

Sending everyone warm thoughts! Thinking of you @short+sassy; I saw videos of the snow in New Orleans and there's so much! It looks so fun but also I bet it's snowpacolypse. 

Work today. Yesterday was annoying. I had to get into it with someone because they kept checking in people thirty minutes late and then lying about it and not only did it destroy my day, but it was really frustrating and caused a lot of other issues. This person also did something really annoying earlier in the day so it was like strikes 1-5 all at once. Otherwise, SSDD. I'm a little tired. I'm regretting not stopping to pick up a Vietnamese coffee because those are like 0-60 in terms of caffeination and my little instant coffees just can't hold a candle to it. 

It's supposed to rain here over the weekend, most places 0.25-0.5 inches, but some of the foothills will be up to 1.5 inches. We need it, but there's a really big risk of mudslides. My mom is going to my grandparents house today because grandma has a surgery. I told her to pick up food that doesn't need to be cooked and to buy some extra water (they still have do not drink orders with the water too). Luckily their house is tucked back from the street and raised so hopefully even if they get mud and a lot of rain or lose power they'll be okay just staying inside. 

I have book club tonight. We were to read the book received at our Christmas exchange. I think I told y'all I read The Phoenix Crown by Lisa Jewel. Not my favorite but it was ok. It is going to be difficult tonight because 3 of our members are Trumpers. Not radical MAGA Trumpers but nonetheless they voted for this shit. It willl be hard not to say something if the topic comes up, which it might because one of our member's daughters is probably losing her job thanks to his idiocy. 

Boys were great last night! We did a Culver's drive through after school for dinner, played "basketball" in the living room for a long time and bedtime was fairly smooth. A supplier is taking us out for lunch today and i'm having dinner with a friend tomorrow night. Saturday is Monster truck Jam with the boys and their 3 best friends. Just ordered my noise cancelling headphones to be here tomorrow!! The boys have asked for a family room sleepover this weekend so we'll do that on Saturday, lol. We'll pick a new movie, have snacks, and all sleep downstairs

Been super anxious about work lately and trying to work through it. Nothing is really wrong, i just get down on myself sometimes if I feel like i should be arbitrarily doing better? I'll figure it out, just irritating right now.

Baby J went to the pulmonologist who said he looked good but still not great and is sending us to ENT again because he was concerned his tonsils were quite large. One day we will leave an appointment without the need for more follow ups. Today sadly was not that day.

Nothing much else going on. It's still way too cold here and I don't want to do my job right now. I just cut up a bunch of tomatoes to make homemade soup for lunch. Maybe that will brighten the day. 

*Hugs* I was really struggling last night when I saw the order declaring that "safe" spaces, aka schools, hospitals, churches, etc can now be raided by ICE. There's a pit in my stomach. I could totally see us being raided because we are in a very poor, very crime ridden area with a very large immigrant population. Many of my patients are undocumented or at the very least weren't born here. 

As someone empathetic so the situation of undocumented but selfishly as a parent of school children, practicing Catholic and parent of a child at a hospital every 6 weeks, selfishly these are OUR safe spaces.    These are places where law enforcement should be only in the times of emergencies and raiding them is not one.   I find it completely morally repugnant that under the guise of "safety" this administration has no f*cks to give about disrupting the educational process (and the right of my kids to receive one), my freedom of worship and ability to address medical needs.   IMO no matter what your feeling is on the immigration you should be angry that this is now on the table.    

I already saw local news that one of the high schools in CT largest city is coming up with protocols to deal with ways to combat this. 

It's absolutely terrifying, and I wonder how many people will decide their plan is to just not send their kids to school. I just can't wrap my head around the cruelty for sport. 

I haven't talked to my mom since Christmas, and I'm having a really hard time not calling her and screaming that this blood will be on her hands. 

The cynical part of me also thinks "all of this is under the guise of 'protecting America,' and 'criminals' and 'terrorism.' I cannot think of a way that is more likely to radicalize someone than being ripped from their school or church and deported to a place they've never been." I cannot believe that children already have active shooter drills at school and now they will have to learn and fear immigration raids. And you're right, a lot of people will choose to keep their children home. People won't get care for their medical conditions until it is too late.
